We have an article on the Dunning-Kruger effect. - π 04:18, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
Two cents[edit]
- Luther was not the pioneer of the institution of the self-ordained prophet; he believed in the magisterium, state churches and (to a limited degree) the apostolic succession. The Puritans and Methodists were more responsible for that "individualistic" approach.
- Note that there are many who extend their believed authority with respect to interpretation to what many of them believe to be also a divinely-inspired text, namely the Constitution of the Unuted States of America, at least up to the post-{Civil War} amendments. ('Original'ists, for their part, can be agnostic or atheist as to its origins, and in fact deny that they are really doing any sort of interpretation at all, much as a spirit-medium merely conveys the plain words of a more general class of dead people.) (LIES (talk) 16:40, 5 September 2022 (UTC))
- I understand that there are other areas to computer science beyond the a priori theory based around Turing machines; artificial intelligence, for example.
- Connecting economic self-sufficiency with epistemological solipsism is a bit of a stretch.

Mensa effect[edit]
Heh, I like it. I'll plug Keith Stanovich as usual -- he has done a good job at demonstrating that intelligence != rationality. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 06:08, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
- Looks interesting, especially since my lab rat Eric loves using IQ to justify racism and cutting social spending. EVDebs (talk) 06:28, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
- Holy shit, you know a talking rat?!
Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 06:30, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
- Oh lawd, a scientific racist? Check some of the sources on that page for debunkings, esp. Flynn's work. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 06:34, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
- BTW, what kind of lab are you working in where someone can get away with spouting such archaic nonsense? Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 06:52, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
- The kind where the Roger Clemens effect attaches in an unhealthy manner to people I used to respect who turn out to be complete wastes of DNA. EVDebs (talk) 08:02, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
- Roger Clemens effect? Does this involve steroids? Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 08:08, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
