Forum:Captures as references

I'm a tad fuzzy on the whole process of using screen captures as references. There was a recent discussion about us at a forum we have an article about (covered here); I think it's worth covering in the article itself but since the thread is now only accessable as a Google cache, I was wondering if it'd be okay to take some screengrabs and cite them as sources? We mainly started doing it here to counter Conservapedia's constant over-sighting things they didn't like. This has grown to include CZ's forum. I don't think there's any problem with using screen caps as sources. As long as you aren't going to photoshoto them in any way. Use capturebot's sandbox to grab the links - that should do it automatically. --PsyGremlinSpeak! 14:25, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
Photoshoto - what a great word! Totnesmartin (talk) 08:08, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
It's something that happens when the cameraman is Japanese. --PsyGremlinSprich! 08:52, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
Okay, done. If it turns out it doesn't work though (does CaptureBot work with Google caches?) would it be okay if I took the screengrabs myself? Baljit (talk) 14:49, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
Capturebot should pick up any url you add to its sandbox - tho I speak under correction. If so, using your own screencaps is fine. It's not like we're a Trustworthy encyclopaedia or anything :) --PsyGremlinPrata! 14:59, 14 April 2011 (UTC)
