Forum:Homophobia and Religion
We all have heard at one point or another that "gays will burn in hell" or similar bullshit but I have a question- How do Christian homophobes figure gays will burn in hell? Maybe once we die we find out that the actual God(s) are Odin, Zeus, Izanagi, Lilith or once we die we just get reincarnated at the end of each life in a never ending cycle? Figured I should bring that up.--Rationalzombie94 (talk) 00:08, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

I will rephrase what I am saying then, I mean is religious people claim being gay is evil and they will burn in hell. How do they know what their God thinks, they assume that know what their God thinks. So my question would be- How do they know what is truly good or bad? How do they figure they will go to heaven? How do they not know which God is on the other side, it maybe the Greek Gods, Norse Gods, Japanese Gods or maybe we get reincarnated in an infinite cycle at the end of each life. The point is- they do not know what their God thinks and using those assumptions does not work. --Rationalzombie94 (talk) 01:59, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- The answer is simple: They have faith. How do they know that their faith is correct? They don't, that's why it's faith rather than knowledge. "But that doesn't make any sense, you can have faith in anything!" you say, which is the (one of the many) problem with religion. 132.68.18.2 (talk) 11:22, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
Never mind about my argument then, I messed up. Not one of my proudest moments.--Rationalzombie94 (talk) 13:15, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- It sucks but we've all been there. Hating gays is also cherry picking the bible. Leviticus itself has many bans on things people gloss over daily, along with more in the bible itself, so why can't this be another story from a nomadic tribe 3,000 years ago and not the word of god as other silly things are commonly dismissed? -EmeraldCityWanderer (talk) 13:47, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- Because the bible says so and apparently, for whatever reason, they don't feel like chucking this part out of the window like e.g. the dietary laws and stuff. Cherry
poppingpicking.--Kugelschreiber (talk) 17:29, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
