Greetings, fellow citizens...of, wherever...

Has anyone else been seeing 'Sargon of Akkad' on Youtube? I saw (and subscribed) his channel by accident, on a search about something. He uses good sources, a very rational tone, but somehow it smacks to me of misogyny...can anyone tell me why?

Never mind...I've watched a few more vids. Why doesn't he have a page? - — Unsigned, by: Dorianin / talk / contribs

ehh, rambling Gamergater misogynist ... the answer to "why doesn't X have a page" is almost always "'cos nobody's written one". You could write one, or add him to the to do list - David Gerard (talk) 15:42, 27 May 2015 (UTC)

How is he a misogynist? So he agrees with #GamerGate, but I really haven't seen any evidence that he views women as lesser beings. Is it because he is against feminism? The times he talks about feminism are usually the most inane feminist things on the internet. He looks for the craziest stuff. EuroBurro (talk) 15:54, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

I've seen plenty of the videos too. He's not misogynistic, he just rants about feminism a lot.TheriziπosaurusG (talk) 01:27, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
He's a run of the mill anti-feminist fighting straw(wo)men.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 01:37, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
Uh ... that's a really unconvincing argument, unless you're trying to finesse definitions of "misogynist". He talks indistinguishably from one - David Gerard (talk) 19:33, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
I am currently watching him on another tab, as I do several times daily. I don't know why, but I find him and Thunderfoot quite amusing in how they miss the points so commonly. <-𐌈FedoraTippingSkeptic𐌈-> (talk) 19:36, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
It's better than "he sounds like a misogynist". Sounds like one? How? Did you mean to say "I can't point to anything misogynistic he actually thinks or said, but he must be"? Plus accusing him of fighting strawmen doesn't hold up, since his videos are mostly based around actual articles, events, or videos that he takes issue with.TheriziπosaurusG (talk) 20:01, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
Which he then strawmans. 142.124.55.236 (talk) 20:08, 25 September 42015 AQD (UTC)
I think the things he highlights speak for themselves.TheriziπosaurusG (talk) 18:35, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
Many adolescents who lack backgrounds in academia tend to think the same. His twitter following is actually very interesting. There are a large number of teens/tweens who style their names after his and parrot him almost religiously. He's like some kind of idiot messiah. If you're actually interested in the things he discusses, you should ignore him. That's about the best advice I can give on the subject. He's on par with Breitbart, Aurini, and other far-right propagandists. I'm saying this from the perspective of someone who has spent years actually studying sociology within academia. Half the time he literally has no idea what the meaning of the words he's using are. He'd be amusing if he weren't so capable at conning vulnerable kids who don't seem to have access to academic materials.24.160.154.102 (talk) 20:31, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
Apparently people are unable to criticize this person without using the way he "sounds", or his "religious followers", or anything other than actual examples of what he says, but humor me. From a sociologist's perspective, what things does he have no idea what he's talking about? I don't think you need some person educating you in sociology to realize that, say, people who claim that a gay pride parade near a Muslim community is "racist" are morons. But I guess that makes him on the same level as White Nationalists and Holocaust deniers.TheriziπosaurusG (talk) 03:32, 3 October 2015 (UTC)
He's essentially a less-educated Thunderf00t. I'm amused that he can't get a real job, personally. --Castaigne (talk) 20:26, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
That's not saying much. 24.160.154.102 (talk) 20:31, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
Let me put it this way: He's not very rational at all, he mainly just likes to assert he is. Whether he criticizes real sources and articles or whatever doesn't matter, because he is quick to misrepresent their points and take cheap potshots at people who don't like him. Plus, he's the kind of guy who uses "autistic" as an insult to pander to the edgy 4chan 8chan kiddies. --Trinity (talk) 02:45, 11 October 2015 (UTC)
