RationalWiki's 2018 Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff — we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

If everyone seeing this today donates $5, we will meet our goal for 2018.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

Scifi. Universe. FAIL. Vaping in 5...4...3... Bastard word Hoover! 16:58, 27 January 2009 (EST)

I logged in just now and saw the "rollback" option in the diff screen, which I had to click in order to see what it did, being a complete novice in this area. No offence intended. KlapauciusEsteemed Constructor 19:19, 28 January 2009 (EST)

No need to worry. I've gotten worse. Please add- I need help coming up with a DALEK survival guide. You're a fan of Doctor Who, aren't you? --"ConservapediaUndergroundInductoris overworked and overbearing 19:24, 28 January 2009 (EST)
I'm afraid not: I just saw the revision in RC. I can't suggest much apart from the obvious "avoid stairs" and so forth. I'm more interested in Polish sci-fi, really, as my (somewhat obscure) username suggests. And Terry Pratchett as well, although someone else already has a name based on that. Ye olde dalecke stuffe[edit]

I am a Dr Who fan, and I couldn't help noticing this seems to go up to Remembrance of the Daleks (1988) - a bit more on the modern stuff perhaps? Yours trulyDear Sir 04:38, 29 January 2009 (EST)
Yep. If someone could help, that'd be nice. CONVERTINATE! --"ConservapediaUndergroundInductoris overworked and overbearing 15:52, 29 January 2009 (EST)
The funniest thing is that in Remembrance of the Daleks, Daleks could go up stairs. Bastard word Hoover! 15:56, 29 January 2009 (EST)
By goat! Another DW fan! We shall conquer the daleks! Look here WE SHALL FIND WEAKNESSES AND EXTERMINATE THE DALEKS! --"ConservapediaUndergroundInductoris overworked and overbearing 16:01, 29 January 2009 (EST)
Oh, god, I share a group with you. I feel so... unclean. Bastard word Hoover! 16:05, 29 January 2009 (EST)
I'm from Britain, so I get to see Doctor Who on Saturday nights at 7, as it should be. Bastard word Hoover! 16:06, 29 January 2009 (EST)
You're part of the wiki? I'm not. I watch DW on Friday. Darn. --"ConservapediaUndergroundInductoris overworked and overbearing 16:09, 29 January 2009 (EST)
I'm basing my assumption that you're American on the times you come online. Bastard word Hoover! 16:10, 29 January 2009 (EST)
Clever, aren't you? Brilliant, as a matter of fact. But what's even more brilliant is that I'm online most at night- meaning it must have taken quite a bit of thought. --"ConservapediaUndergroundInductoris overworked and overbearing 16:13, 29 January 2009 (EST)
I did say it was an assumption. Bastard word Hoover! 16:16, 29 January 2009 (EST)

(unident) But if you looked up Stargate and Sanctuary, you would have seen that they are relatively new, American sci-fi TV shows. You would also have been able to determine that I had a vested interest in Obama being elected by looking at my work. You would also know that I live someplace where there is internet access and American English is spoken. --"ConservapediaUndergroundInductoris overworked and overbearing 16:23, 29 January 2009 (EST)

Damn, you weren't being sarcastic! Bastard word Hoover! 16:24, 29 January 2009 (EST)

Ways of dealing with Daleks[edit]

1) Ladders (especially of rope) and firemen's poles.

2) Follow the policy of 'utilities repair companies' - which dig up roads in the reverse-coordinated manner. (talk) 18:41, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

3) Mirror mazes.

4) Oil and similar materials on the floor.

5) Roundabouts (children's) (talk) 17:13, 10 December 2010 (UTC)

Dealing with Daleks[edit]

The remains of a Dalek have been found in a pond (see websearch for images) - we all recognise what it is - but one can see that if it had been discovered a century from now the series would have been forgotten/images not easily found and the object becomes the subject of bizarre speculation.

How many 'anomalous objects' fall into the same category? (talk) 14:48, 12 April 2013 (UTC)

Conservapedia and Daleks[edit]

Some of the earlier versions of the CP article on Daleks are... creative. (talk) 15:38, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Dr Who nos 14 and 15[edit]

Should be a Dalek and a 'right wing newspapers' snarlword negative person - 'ethnic disabled job-stealing...' (well, the Doctor is an immigrant). (talk) 21:49, 19 July 2017 (UTC)
