Fun talk:Death Note

I gave up on the manga after his dad bit it, because honestly there was nobody left in the cast who I cared if they lived or died. Which sort of took away the point, eh? --Kels 19:38, 29 December 2008 (EST)

True, it is important to have characters you can relate to, but I was drawn into the mind-games they played with each other. I began to see alot of Kira in Andy recently. That's why I put this up.--Nate River 19:46, 29 December 2008 (EST)

Relocate to funspace?[edit]

While I understand that Death Note is somewhat controversial, I do not think we should have an article in the mainspace about it, as it is of such minor import as to be effectively off-mission. Why don't we relocate this to either the Conservapediaspace (as it discusses its counterpart article on Conservapedia) or to the funspace? Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 23:08, 3 January 2009 (EST)

I think that even in fun this article is badly enough written to justify deletion. ħumanUser talk:Human 00:33, 18 January 2009 (EST)

What happened to the CP article?[edit]

It's completely gone. I can't even find the history. Anyone know who did it?--Nate River 00:11, 12 February 2009 (EST)

Check the deletion log? ħumanUser talk:Human 01:11, 12 February 2009 (EST)
Deleted by Assfly himself for not being encyclopedic, yet there is a whole category for anime.--Nate River 02:03, 12 February 2009 (EST)
Well there ya go. Dang. ħumanUser talk:Human 02:29, 12 February 2009 (EST)
I've seen some of their anime articles and they say nothing more than the creator, some vague catch line pertaining to the plot yet never really touching it, and what stations it airs on. Considering there is entire wiki's on some of these series, these are pitiful stubs at their worse. Hmm, only my article was deleted. No revert, just gone. Makes me wish I had done more--Nate River 21:17, 12 February 2009 (EST)

Any ways to improve[edit]

Anyone have anything more to add?--Nate River 00:11, 12 February 2009 (EST)

Can someone put this on a t-graph like the Andy/Obama page?[edit]

Go to the help link upper left and find the "side by side" template thing. I think that's what you are asking for. ħumanUser talk:Human 23:51, 27 February 2009 (EST)

Couldn't find it. Ended up copy and pasting from the page. Easier than I thought, but I am still dissatisfied as I could not get the columns level.--Nate River 01:32, 28 February 2009 (EST)
Sorry for not providing a link... seems like you figured it out, though. ħumanUser talk:Human 01:39, 28 February 2009 (EST)

Possible deletion[edit]

This really is pointless. It's not funny, it sure as heck wouldn't last in the mainspace, perhaps move to user space? ħumanUser talk:Human 02:29, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Humor is a personal thing, just like your taste in music. As for user space, I prefer not to go to that option--Nate River 02:58, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
OK. Is there a way this can be written or improved so those not familiar with the manga in question could still follow it? Otherwise, it is sorta fancrufty... How well known is the death note thing (curious)? ħumanUser talk:Human 03:08, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
If you read bootlegged Manga on the net(before it ends somewhere in 2006) that should come along on the popular list somewhere (there are others that swarm the list after it ended, that's the pitfall). From WP TV anime is ported for Cartoon Network(Adult Swim) in US and YTV in Canada. [[User:K61824|]][[User_talk:K61824|]] 03:21, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
(EC)Compared to other anime/manga, very. FlareTalk 03:23, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
K, er, I don't. NF, meaning what? I dunno, I just never gave a poopie about those big-eyed Japanese animations. I change the channel when they're on my TV and all, since I just don't get it... sorry. ħumanUser talk:Human 03:49, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Let's see... 15 million copies of the series sold in Japan, the live-action movies were released dubbed in NA with Warner Brothers making an American adaptation in the next year or two. It's just not a series that you can really sell a lot of stupid crap for. That's why you don't see Death Note this and that like you did for Pokemon Also see [[1]] That clear things up?--Nate River 04:01, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Ehh, I don't really know how popular it is over there either, just sayin'.
Also, what the hell is up with arresting 6th graders for possessing Death Notes notebooks? FlareTalk 04:07, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
They were writing other students names in and it counted as a threat. Makes you wonder what causes of death they were writing...--Nate River 04:15, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
"Death Note has sold around twenty million copies in Japan" And? Let's face it, this site is relatively anglo-biased. As in, most of us aren't Japanese. I still think this article smacks of one person making a joke with themselves. ħumanUser talk:Human 06:06, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Bad point, I know. Really hard to get figures for North American releases. Anyway, I always considered this a work in progress. If we could hold off on the deletion, I can rework this. BTW, if you want a quick Death Note Experience Hu, try the first two movies. Better than the TV series (plus no huge eyes)--Nate River 18:48, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
I'll see if I can remember to rent one or both... I guess there's no harm in having a clue as to what I am talking about here ;) Oh, what are they called so I know they are the 1st/2nd? ħumanUser talk:Human 21:09, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
The first is simply called Death Note, while the second is called Death Note: The Last Name (or simply II on the side of the case). If you see L: change the world, avoid that if you want to understand Death Note, it is a spin-off. I say quickie because they end it after about halfway through the series. It skips that and jumps to the final confrontation. Anyway, if you have trouble, let me know and I can send you a link to an online version of the films.--Nate River 00:11, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

SBS table[edit]

Due to linewrapping on random items, the "side by side" humor gets a bit lost lower in the list. Should we (meaning you) change the *s to #s so they are numbered instead of bulleted? ħumanUser talk:Human 01:07, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Would tabulating them (not the sbs template) not keep them in line better? Scarlet A.pnggnostic 01:18, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
I like the sbs template because this originally was a parody of the Obama/Andy page...I just fuck up every time I try to make it sectioned like that one. The numbers make this a little easier to follow and I'm not going to pester someone to pretty this up. If someone does it, fine. If someone doesn't, don't matter to me.--Tabris (talk) 01:25, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
SBS template would be a little big for something that's a series of one line gags I think. Scarlet A.pnggnostic 01:43, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Actually, scratch that, I thought sbs put a heading and edit button in on each one, looks like it doesn't, actually, so it may work. Scarlet A.pnggnostic 01:45, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, using sbs, you can manually add headers between usages. A very well done template, although perhaps "header" should an optional parameter on it... Tabris, yeah, I think the numbering worked out well enough. It makes it easy to read them "randomly" and still follow the jokes. ħumanUser talk:Human 02:15, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Kira ain't misogynistic[edit]

He uses everyone, men and women. If that's a sign of hate, than he is misanthropist.--Arisboch ☞✍☜☞✉☜ ∈)☼(∋ 18:57, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
