- There is an odd thing about the Air Force in the United States. True or not, the idea is that people who want a military career AND are intelligent go to the Air Force. What I have never understood is why, therefore, the Air Force (especially the academy) is such a bastion for evangelicals. I just don't get it. --Edgerunner76 08:02, 8 January 2008 (EST)
- I think that is partly due to the fact that the AF has a clearly defined MOS, or job description at the officer level, that is readily transferable to a later civilian career - pilot. human 17:48, 8 January 2008 (EST)
- I think I've heard this term used in reference to anybody "on the ground" (Army, Marines, whatever) used by Navy people as well. Obviously, there are derogatory nicknames the Army has for the Navy and Air Force personnel also.--Bayesupdate 10:34, 8 January 2008 (EST)
