Qur'an 40:1[edit]

Ha, Meem.

Qur'an 40:1 Notes[edit]

These Arabic letters are essential for Allah's message to all of humanity. After 1400+ years, nobody really knows what this meaning even is, but Allah clearly included them for a reason.

Qur'an 40:2[edit]

The sending down of the Scripture is from God the Almighty, the Omniscient.

Qur'an 40:2 Notes[edit]

God could unambiguously prove his existence exactly as this scripture describes him. Instead, this book asserts this claim time and time again.

Qur'an 40:3[edit]

Forgiver of sins, Accepter of repentance, Severe in punishment, Bountiful in bounty. There is no god but He. To Him is the ultimate return.

Qur'an 40:3 Notes[edit]

What? He forgives sins and accepts repentance while still punishing severely those who beg desperately and repent during the Day of Judgment? This chapter is straight up titled The Forgiving One!

Qur'an 40:4[edit]

None argues against God’s revelations except those who disbelieve. So do not be impressed by their activities in the land.

Qur'an 40:4 Notes[edit]

Of course those who believe this to actually be revealed from God, as this book claims ad nauseam, wouldn't actually dispute the claims that they believe.

Qur'an 40:5[edit]

Before them the people of Noah rejected the truth, as did the confederates after them. Every community plotted against their messenger, to capture him. And they argued with falsehood, to defeat with it the truth. But I seized them. What a punishment it was!

Qur'an 40:5 Notes[edit]

Allah could have ensured that they left historical evidence that we in the modern day could see for ourselves. Alas, That is not important. We are only left to assume that this book has a single iota of truth in it.

Qur'an 40:6[edit]

Thus the sentence of your Lord became realized against those who disbelieve, that they are to be inmates of the Fire.

Qur'an 40:6 Notes[edit]

Thus the evidence of such horrific absurdities is nowhere in reality. God could have actually added real evidence instead of inane repetition.

Qur'an 40:7[edit]

Those who carry the Throne, and those around it, glorify their Lord with praise, and believe in Him, and ask for forgiveness for those who believe: “Our Lord, You have encompassed everything in mercy and knowledge; so forgive those who repent and follow Your path, and protect them from the agony of the Blaze.

Qur'an 40:7 Notes[edit]

A god who has truly encompassed everything in mercy as this verse claims would never have made any infinite torture in the first place. Nobody would deserve such horrific torture if Allah actually showed any mercy to anyone.

Qur'an 40:8[edit]

And admit them, Our Lord, into the Gardens of Eternity, which You have promised them, and the righteous among their parents, and their spouses, and their offspring. You are indeed the Almighty, the Most Wise.

Qur'an 40:8 Notes[edit]

Everybody who was unfortunate enough for this "Most Wise" to not deem them "righteous"... yeah, they get something far more horrifying than they could imagine. This chapter has a severely dishonest name.

Qur'an 40:9[edit]

And shield them from the evil deeds. Whomever You shield from the evil deeds, on that Day, You have had mercy on him. That is the supreme achievement.”

Qur'an 40:9 Notes[edit]

Perhaps Allah can just not have created any forms of "evil deeds" to begin with? This despot explicitly chose to make a world where any form of evil is real.

Qur'an 40:10[edit]

Those who disbelieved will be addressed, “The loathing of God is greater than your loathing of yourselves—for you were invited to the faith, but you refused.”

Qur'an 40:10 Notes[edit]

Allah literally created these people. Allah gets angry at his very own handiwork when he could just have made all of his creation perfect. Allah instead created people whom he loathes.

Qur'an 40:11[edit]

They will say, “Our Lord, you made us die twice, and twice you gave us life. Now we acknowledge our sins. Is there any way out?”

Qur'an 40:11 Notes[edit]

They acknowledge their sins and clearly repent for them. A truly forgiving deity would absolutely give sinners a way out.

Qur'an 40:12[edit]

That is because when God alone was called upon, you disbelieved; but when others were associated with Him, you believed. Judgment rests with God the Sublime, the Majestic.

Qur'an 40:12 Notes[edit]

This verse does not mention those who believe neither in this God nor in any others.

Qur'an 40:13[edit]

It is He who shows you His wonders, and sends down sustenance from the sky for you. But none pays heed except the repentant.

Qur'an 40:13 Notes[edit]

He never proved that these wonders, any of them, are actually from him and not just other deities or even natural phenomena.

Qur'an 40:14[edit]

So call upon God, with sincere devotion to Him, even though the disbelievers resent it.

Qur'an 40:14 Notes[edit]

What we disbelievers dislike isn't sincere devotion. We dislike the insistence that leads good people to harm themselves and the people around them because of ridiculous falsehoods and lifelong indoctrination.

Qur'an 40:15[edit]

Exalted in rank, Owner of the Throne. He conveys the Spirit, by His command, upon whomever He wills of His servants, to warn of the Day of Encounter.

Qur'an 40:15 Notes[edit]

He constantly brags about his attributes without clearly demonstrating any truthfulness to them whatsoever.

Qur'an 40:16[edit]

The Day when they will emerge, nothing about them will be concealed from God. “To whom does the sovereignty belong today?” “To God, the One, the Irresistible.”

Qur'an 40:16 Notes[edit]

Why bother with a "Day of Judgment" when Allah supposedly knows everything always at all times?

Qur'an 40:17[edit]

On that Day, every soul will be recompensed for what it had earned. There will be no injustice on that Day. God is quick to settle accounts.

Qur'an 40:17 Notes[edit]

Allah states clearly that he created all of humanity perfectly knowing that an overwhelming majority amidst his creation won't believe in him and even sealed their hearts so that none of those unfortunate souls even could believe in this pack of lies. How did they earn the infinite torture which God ensured just in this life when Allah created them and predestined them to fail?

Qur'an 40:18[edit]

And warn them of the Day of Imminence, when the hearts are at the throats, choking them. The evildoers will have no intimate friend, and no intercessor to be obeyed.

Qur'an 40:18 Notes[edit]

Provide actual evidence so that your warnings are any more credible than the warnings in any other religion ever.

Qur'an 40:19[edit]

He knows the deceptions of the eyes, and what the hearts conceal.

Qur'an 40:19 Notes[edit]

Repeatedly asserting absurdities while repeatedly threatening skeptics for not believing these absurdities... that sounds more like deception than the skepticism itself.

Qur'an 40:20[edit]

God judges with justice, while those whom they invoke besides Him cannot judge with anything. It is God who is the Hearing, the Seeing.

Qur'an 40:20 Notes[edit]

Justice is an entirely alien concept to Allah.

Qur'an 40:21[edit]

Have they not travelled through the earth, and seen the consequences for those before them? They were stronger than them, and they left more impact on earth. But God seized them for their sins, and they had no defender against God.

Qur'an 40:21 Notes[edit]

People have indeed seen ruins from civilizations past, but these ruins never contained concrete evidence that Allah destroyed them, much less that he did so because they transgressed against him. That evidence seems important to ensure that the signs actually point to Allah exclusively as they should.

Qur'an 40:22[edit]

That is because their messengers used to come to them with clear proofs, but they disbelieved, so God seized them. He is Strong, Severe in retribution.

Qur'an 40:22 Notes[edit]

What clear proofs did they bring to anyone?

Qur'an 40:23[edit]

We sent Moses with Our signs, and a clear authority.

Qur'an 40:23 Notes[edit]

What signs? What clear authority? Repeatedly asserting a claim without properly proving it does not count.

Qur'an 40:24[edit]

To Pharaoh, Hamaan, and Quaroon. But they said, “A lying sorcerer.”

Qur'an 40:24 Notes[edit]

If these signs were anything resembling the ramblings in this book, then these skeptics were all right to call him a liar for claiming to know things without actually having demonstrable knowledge.

Qur'an 40:25[edit]

Then, when he came to them with the truth from Us, they said, “Kill the sons of those who have believed with him, and spare their daughters.” But the scheming of the unbelievers can only go astray.

Qur'an 40:25 Notes[edit]

Which Pharaoh specifically implemented this death penalty? Multiple pharaohs existed throughout history with more historical evidence supporting them than Moses.

Qur'an 40:26[edit]

Pharaoh said, “Leave me to kill Moses, and let him appeal to his Lord. I fear he may change your religion, or spread disorder in the land.”

Qur'an 40:26 Notes[edit]

Which Pharaoh said that to Moses? This chapter mentions that God deliberately left evidence of these tales to let us know for sure that these tales have any truth behind them.

Qur'an 40:27[edit]

Moses said, “I have sought the protection of my Lord and your Lord, from every tyrant who does not believe in the Day of Account.”

Qur'an 40:27 Notes[edit]

Uh huh...

Qur'an 40:28[edit]

A believing man from Pharaoh's family, who had concealed his faith, said, “Are you going to kill a man for saying, `My Lord is God,’ and he has brought you clear proofs from your Lord? If he is a liar, his lying will rebound upon him; but if he is truthful, then some of what he promises you will befall you. God does not guide the extravagant imposter.

Qur'an 40:28 Notes[edit]

Apparently, people aren't supposed to kill those who disagree on religious grounds. Who knew?

Qur'an 40:29[edit]

O my people! Yours is the dominion today, supreme in the land; but who will help us against God’s might, should it fall upon us?” Pharaoh said, “I do not show you except what I see, and I do not guide you except to the path of prudence.”

Qur'an 40:29 Notes[edit]

Pharaoh, unlike Moses or anyone choosing only faith, doesn't lie by stating what he did not and could not have ever seen. Pharaoh actually shows greater honesty here by not even pretending to state the unknowable. This makes him apparently evil in the blind eyes of the author of the Quran.

Qur'an 40:30[edit]

The one who had believed said, “O my people, I fear for you the like of the day of the confederates.

Qur'an 40:30 Notes[edit]

Did Moses prove that any of these "confederates" were destroyed by this God specifically? Also, even assuming that this God is real and did all of that, why would this chapter mention an infinitely cruel punishment when it is titled "The Forgiving One"?

Qur'an 40:31[edit]

Like the fate of the people of Noah, and Aad, and Thamood, and those after them. God wants no injustice for the servants.

Qur'an 40:31 Notes[edit]

"God wants no injustice" while still deliberately creating those who could never believe because God sealed their minds and hearts.

Qur'an 40:32[edit]

O my people, I fear for you the Day of Calling Out.

Qur'an 40:32 Notes[edit]

A truly "Forgiving" deity would create no such "Day of Calling Out" in the first place. Why would people need to be saved from a horrific fate when God is powerful enough to simply have the afterlife not punish or horrify anyone whatsoever?

Qur'an 40:33[edit]

The Day when you will turn and flee, having no defender against God. Whomever God misguides has no guide.”

Qur'an 40:33 Notes[edit]

Why would anyone need a defender against an omnibenevolent god?

Qur'an 40:34[edit]

Joseph had come to you with clear revelations, but you continued to doubt what he came to you with. Until, when he perished, you said, “God will never send a messenger after him.” Thus God leads astray the outrageous skeptic.

Qur'an 40:34 Notes[edit]

Joseph Smith apparently brought more clear revelations that seem just as believable as anything mentioned in this Quran. Muslims doubt because "God will never send a messenger after him" as some bloke named Muhammad said (about himself specifically) back during his time. According to the logic in this book, Muslims should accept the clear signs brought by this Joseph Smith fellow, lest any of them be the "outrageous skeptic" mentioned in this verse.

Qur'an 40:35[edit]

Those who argue against God’s revelations, without any proof having come to them—a heinous sin in the sight of God, and of those who believe. Thus God seals the heart of every proud bully.

Qur'an 40:35 Notes[edit]

Skeptics argue against God's revelations because no proof came to us. The only proof we see is proof that debunks the religion.

Qur'an 40:36[edit]

And Pharaoh said, “O Hamaan, build me a tower, that I may reach the pathways.

Qur'an 40:36 Notes[edit]

Did Allah ever specify which building this tower is supposed to be?

Qur'an 40:37[edit]

The pathways of the heavens, so that I may glance at the God of Moses; though I think he is lying.” Thus Pharaoh’s evil deeds were made to appear good to him, and he was averted from the path. Pharaoh's guile was only in defeat.

Qur'an 40:37 Notes[edit]

Did Moses actually tell Pharaoh that God was literally in the heavens that are literally above?

Qur'an 40:38[edit]

The one who had believed said, “O my people, follow me, and I will guide you to the path of rectitude.”

Qur'an 40:38 Notes[edit]

The one who had believed may have believed falsehoods and spread those unwittingly. Believing something to be true ultimately means nothing.

Qur'an 40:39[edit]

“O my people, the life of this world is nothing but fleeting enjoyment, but the Hereafter is the Home of Permanence.

Qur'an 40:39 Notes[edit]

"Someone believes this sincerely and told us to believe too" is somehow not a good reason to actually believe it.

Qur'an 40:40[edit]

Whoever commits a sin will be repaid only with its like. But whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, and is a believer—these will enter Paradise, where they will be provided for without account.

Qur'an 40:40 Notes[edit]

What about believers who commit some sins here and there but atone for them and live righteously overall? Also, this verse explicitly states that good deed without believing are meaningless. Belief is actually mandatory for the good works to mean anything to God.

Qur'an 40:41[edit]

O my people, how is it that I call you to salvation, and you call me to the Fire?

Qur'an 40:41 Notes[edit]

People don't all believe in a Fire and thus don't even believe in salvation from what, to them, seems like a nonexistent threat.

Qur'an 40:42[edit]

You call me to reject God, and to associate with Him what I have no knowledge of, while I call you to the Mighty Forgiver.

Qur'an 40:42 Notes[edit]

You have no knowledge of God either. You just have faith. "The Mighty Forgiver" would not need a questionable human to call others to him when he could just simply forgive everybody instantly.

Qur'an 40:43[edit]

Without a doubt, what you call me to has no say in this world, or in the Hereafter; and our turning back is to God; and the transgressors are the inmates of the Fire.

Qur'an 40:43 Notes[edit]

"The Mighty Forgiver" should just forgive everybody and not even create a Fire or a moral system where anybody even deserves it.

Qur'an 40:44[edit]

You will remember what I am telling you, so I commit my case to God. God is Observant of the servants.”

Qur'an 40:44 Notes[edit]

Vague promises of vindication...

Qur'an 40:45[edit]

So God protected him from the evils of their scheming, while a terrible torment besieged Pharaoh’s clan.

Qur'an 40:45 Notes[edit]

So rational skepticism is a form of evil scheming now? Also, this is another reminder that Allah has zero issues with collective punishment.

Qur'an 40:46[edit]

The Fire. They will be exposed to it morning and evening. And on the Day the Hour takes place: “Admit the clan of Pharaoh to the most intense agony.”

Qur'an 40:46 Notes[edit]

How truly forgiving this god must be to do something like this...

Qur'an 40:47[edit]

As they quarrel in the Fire, the weak will say to those who were arrogant, “We were followers of yours; will you then spare us a portion of the Fire?”

Qur'an 40:47 Notes[edit]

Of course, that sounds way too kind and forgiving for The Forgiving One.

Qur'an 40:48[edit]

Those who were arrogant will say, “We are all in it; God has judged between the servants.”

Qur'an 40:48 Notes[edit]

And God has judged cruelly.

Qur'an 40:49[edit]

And those in the Fire will say to the keepers of Hell, “Call to your Lord to lessen our suffering for one day.”

Qur'an 40:49 Notes[edit]

How absolutely unforgiving...

Qur'an 40:50[edit]

They will say, “Did not your messengers come to you with clear signs?” They will say, “Yes.” They will say, “Then pray, but the prayers of the disbelievers will always be in vain.”

Qur'an 40:50 Notes[edit]

How about the people who have yet to receive any clear signs at all? How about those who received clear signs that Islam is devoid of truth? The evidence for the falsehood of Islam is clearer than anything supporting Islam.

Qur'an 40:51[edit]

Most surely We will support Our messengers and those who believe, in this life, and on the Day the witnesses arise.

Qur'an 40:51 Notes[edit]

Is this why so many believers later leave the faith, sincerely believing that their former religion is a lie?

Qur'an 40:52[edit]

The Day when their excuses will not profit the wrongdoers, and the curse will be upon them, and they will have the Home of Misery.

Qur'an 40:52 Notes[edit]

How forgiving...

Qur'an 40:53[edit]

We gave Moses guidance, and made the Children of Israel inherit the Scripture.

Qur'an 40:53 Notes[edit]

Despite this, many people disagree whether Moses was even real. Surely, the clear signs would include airtight historical evidence for Moses as described in the Quran or the Bible.

Qur'an 40:54[edit]

A guide and a reminder for those endowed with reason.

Qur'an 40:54 Notes[edit]

Reason, despite what the Quran claims ad nauseam, leads people to see the many flaws in this book and the lack of actual evidence supporting it.

Qur'an 40:55[edit]

So be patient. The promise of God is true. And ask forgiveness for your sin, and proclaim the praise of your Lord evening and morning.

Qur'an 40:55 Notes[edit]

Patience is virtuous while stubbornness is not virtuous. An open mind should not be discouraged. People should be open to the possibility that this belief is not worth maintaining so stubbornly.

Qur'an 40:56[edit]

Those who dispute regarding God’s revelations without any authority having come to them—there is nothing in their hearts but the feeling of greatness, which they will never attain. So seek refuge in God; for He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.

Qur'an 40:56 Notes[edit]

These so-called revelations still lack any proof proving that God specifically brought them to us.

Qur'an 40:57[edit]

Certainly the creation of the heavens and the earth is greater than the creation of humanity, but most people do not know.

Qur'an 40:57 Notes[edit]

The heavens and the earth are more vast and complex than the humans inhabiting this earth. So what?

Qur'an 40:58[edit]

Not equal are the blind and the seeing. Nor are those who believe and work righteousness equal to the sinners. How little you reflect.

Qur'an 40:58 Notes[edit]

The Quran insults the intellect of people who look at the flaws plaguing this religion and, through sight, see the many signs pointing towards this book being a falsehood-ridden immoral mess.

Qur'an 40:59[edit]

Indeed, the Hour is coming; there is no doubt about it; but most people do not believe.

Qur'an 40:59 Notes[edit]

There clearly is doubt if this verse claims unambiguously that most people don't actually believe it. This verse could at least pretend to not contradict itself while pretending that the "truth" in it is obvious.

Qur'an 40:60[edit]

Your Lord has said, “Pray to Me, and I will respond to you. But those who are too proud to worship Me will enter Hell forcibly.”

Qur'an 40:60 Notes[edit]

What a wonderful forgiver indeed...

Qur'an 40:61[edit]

It is God Who made the night for you, that you may rest therein; and the day allowing sight. God is gracious towards the people, but most people do not give thanks.

Qur'an 40:61 Notes[edit]

A truly benevolent, forgiving god would not do good things just with the expectations of thanks from his own creations, especially when he left us no evidence to support this absurd idea. God is the one who gave us the mental faculties that we use to know just what makes his claims absurd. What a gracious god...

Qur'an 40:62[edit]

Such is God, your Lord, Creator of all things. There is no god except Him; so how could you turn away?

Qur'an 40:62 Notes[edit]

We simply fail to see the evidence pointing to Allah despite him revealing this book to all of humanity knowing what would convince each and every human ever.

Qur'an 40:63[edit]

Thus are turned away those who dispute the signs of God.

Qur'an 40:63 Notes[edit]

What signs?

Qur'an 40:64[edit]

It is God who made the earth a habitat for you, and the sky a structure. And He designed you, and designed you well; and He provided you with the good things. Such is God, your Lord; so Blessed is God, Lord of the Worlds.

Qur'an 40:64 Notes[edit]

This sky is a structure now? Scientists should pay attention. Also, how much of the earth is habitable for humans with arable land for food and tolerable climate year-round exactly? Definitely far below 100% for us.

Qur'an 40:65[edit]

He is the Living One. There is no god except He. So pray to Him, devoting your religion to Him. Praise be to God, the Lord of the Worlds.

Qur'an 40:65 Notes[edit]

...

Qur'an 40:66[edit]

Say, “I was prohibited from worshiping those you invoke besides God, now that clear revelations have come to me from my Lord; and I was commanded to submit to the Lord of the Worlds.”

Qur'an 40:66 Notes[edit]

I take things one step further. I don't worship those false gods, and I also don't worship the false god Allah either. Allah frankly seems just as real as any fake gods ever worshiped.

Qur'an 40:67[edit]

It is He who created you from dust, then from a seed, then from an embryo, then He brings you out as an infant, then He lets you reach your maturity, then you become elderly—although some of you die sooner—so that you may reach a predetermined age, so that you may understand.

Qur'an 40:67 Notes[edit]

Allah tells us again that he created us but doesn't understand what he created.

Qur'an 40:68[edit]

It is He who gives life and death; and when He decides on a thing, He just says to it, “Be,” and it comes to be.

Qur'an 40:68 Notes[edit]

Allah should understand why repetition doesn't make an absurd fairytale more believable.

Qur'an 40:69[edit]

Have you not observed those who dispute regarding God's revelations, how they have deviated?

Qur'an 40:69 Notes[edit]

We have. The historical evidence, something alien to this god, doesn't show what the Quran says.

Qur'an 40:70[edit]

Those who call the Book a lie, and what We sent Our messengers with—they will surely know.

Qur'an 40:70 Notes[edit]

Skeptical thinkers have been calling it "a lie" since Muhammad allegedly received these revelations.

Qur'an 40:71[edit]

When the yokes are around their necks, and they will be dragged by the chains.

Qur'an 40:71 Notes[edit]

What a forgiving god...

Qur'an 40:72[edit]

Into the boiling water, then in the Fire they will be consumed.

Qur'an 40:72 Notes[edit]

Just a reminder: God doesn't want humans to suffer like this despite having created a hell and a moral system where the vast majority of humans will go there.

Qur'an 40:73[edit]

Then it will be said to them, “Where are those you used to deify?

Qur'an 40:73 Notes[edit]

They were as real as you, God the Forgiving One.

Qur'an 40:74[edit]

Instead of God?” They will say, “They have abandoned us. In fact, we were praying to nothing before.” Thus God sends the disbelievers astray.

Qur'an 40:74 Notes[edit]

Here he is explicitly stating that he "sends the disbelievers astray."

Qur'an 40:75[edit]

That is because you used to rejoice on earth in other than the truth, and because you used to behave with vanity.

Qur'an 40:75 Notes[edit]

This is getting tiring already. Why must the final message for humanity repeat itself so much when the vain deity who revealed it could have actually provided clear signs, an unambiguous way to understand them, and demonstrable non-contradictory truth?

Qur'an 40:76[edit]

Enter the gates of Hell, to remain therein forever. What a terrible dwelling for the arrogant.

Qur'an 40:76 Notes[edit]

...

Qur'an 40:77[edit]

So be patient. The promise of God is true. Whether We show you some of what We have promised them, or take you to Us, to Us they will be returned.

Qur'an 40:77 Notes[edit]

Patience doesn't require a closed mind.

Qur'an 40:78[edit]

We sent messengers before you. Some of them We told you about, and some We did not tell you about. No messenger can bring a miracle except by leave of God. Then, when the command of God is issued, fair judgment will be passed, and there and then the seekers of vanity will lose.

Qur'an 40:78 Notes[edit]

How can we clearly define a miracle? This question is crucial for those who want any real meaning from this verse and verification that actual prophets performed miracles when no others could.

Qur'an 40:79[edit]

God is He who created the domestic animals for you—some for you to ride, and some you eat.

Qur'an 40:79 Notes[edit]

Others spread plagues far and wide to people anywhere near. Others still are here not for us to eat but for them to eat us. Plus, why would humans need to domesticate animals when God prepared them in domesticated form?

Qur'an 40:80[edit]

And in them you have other benefits as well, and through them you satisfy your needs. And on them, and on the ships, you are transported.

Qur'an 40:80 Notes[edit]

Wording!

Qur'an 40:81[edit]

And He shows you His signs. So which of God’s signs will you deny?

Qur'an 40:81 Notes[edit]

The signs in the previous verses are supposed to point exclusively to Allah but could just as easily point to any other creator deity, if a deity is even needed whatsoever.

Qur'an 40:82[edit]

Have they not journeyed through the land, and seen the outcome for those before them? They were more numerous than they, and had greater power and influence in the land. But what they had achieved availed them nothing.

Qur'an 40:82 Notes[edit]

Which lands show unmistakable signs that previous civilizations were blessed by "The Forgiving One" and given their completely fair collective punishment specifically because Allah led them all astray.

Qur'an 40:83[edit]

When their messengers came to them with clear proofs, they rejoiced in the knowledge they had, and the very things they used to ridicule besieged them.

Qur'an 40:83 Notes[edit]

When would we in modern times expect clear proofs. This book has none.

Qur'an 40:84[edit]

Then, when they witnessed Our might, they said, “We believe in God alone, and we reject what we used to associate with Him.”

Qur'an 40:84 Notes[edit]

Allah claims to have sent clear proofs to them. Why would they act like God's might was news to them when the proofs were supposedly clear to begin with? Why is this proof so unclear before that?

Qur'an 40:85[edit]

But their faith could not help them once they witnessed Our might. This has been God’s way of dealing with His servants. And there and then the disbelievers lost.

Qur'an 40:85 Notes[edit]

How fitting, ending The Forgiving One in a gracious display of mercy.
