Qur'an 72:1[edit]

Say, “It was revealed to me that a band of jinn listened in, and said, ‘We have heard a wondrous Quran.

Qur'an 72:1 Notes[edit]

These invisible strange creatures that we cannot see by the way, happened to hear about an amazing series of rantings by some guy who claimed he could "talk to an invisible being in the sky" and were intrigued.

Qur'an 72:2[edit]

It guides to rectitude, so we have believed in it; and we will never associate anyone with our Lord.

Qur'an 72:2 Notes[edit]

And believe it or not, these invisible strange creatures bought this whole load of nonsense.

Qur'an 72:3[edit]

And Exalted is the Grandeur of our Lord—He never had a mate, nor a child.

Qur'an 72:3 Notes[edit]

Then why did his messenger have many wives - including an eight-year old one?

Qur'an 72:4[edit]

But the fools among us used to say nonsense about God.

Qur'an 72:4 Notes[edit]

I would very much like to hear that "nonsense".

Qur'an 72:5[edit]

And we thought that humans and jinn would never utter lies about God.

Qur'an 72:5 Notes[edit]

Well, this book keeps lying and nobody has ever edited out these lies despite there being more than sufficient conclusive evidence to point out how much an enormous heap of lies these lies are.

Qur'an 72:6[edit]

Some individual humans used to seek power through some individual jinn, but they only increased them in confusion.

Qur'an 72:6 Notes[edit]

Wow, so people used to go to get power through these invisible strange things? Even stranger how there has never been a single concrete recording of them, except when William Robbins played one in that Disney cartoon.

Qur'an 72:7[edit]

They thought, as you thought, that God would never resurrect anyone.

Qur'an 72:7 Notes[edit]

Just like us. Smart people.

Qur'an 72:8[edit]

We probed the heaven, and found it filled with stern guards and projectiles.

Qur'an 72:8 Notes[edit]

Comets and asteroids?

Qur'an 72:9[edit]

We used to take up positions to listen in; but whoever listens now finds a projectile in wait for him.

Qur'an 72:9 Notes[edit]

Listening to the comets? Wait a minute, space is a vacuum...

Qur'an 72:10[edit]

We do not know whether ill is intended for those on earth, or if their Lord intends goodness for them.

Qur'an 72:10 Notes[edit]

Wait, this all-knowing God doesn't know what is intended for those whom he created and controls?

Qur'an 72:11[edit]

Some of us are righteous, but some of us are less than that; we follow divergent paths.

Qur'an 72:11 Notes[edit]

Fair enough.

Qur'an 72:12[edit]

We realized that we cannot defeat God on earth, and that we cannot escape Him by fleeing.

Qur'an 72:12 Notes[edit]

Again, nobody tried to attack a non-existent God, and there is nothing to run away from.

Qur'an 72:13[edit]

And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. Whoever believes in his Lord fears neither loss, nor burden.

Qur'an 72:13 Notes[edit]

Palestinians, Somalians, Nigerans, Bengalis for instance?

Qur'an 72:14[edit]

Among us are those who are submitting, and among us are the compromisers. As for those who have submitted—it is they who pursue rectitude.

Qur'an 72:14 Notes[edit]

Yes, submit your assignments to your teachers/professors/supervisors on time. Quite practical advice here.

Qur'an 72:15[edit]

But as for the compromisers—they will be firewood for Hell.’”

Qur'an 72:15 Notes[edit]

Or you're toast!

Qur'an 72:16[edit]

Had they kept true to the Path, We would have given them plenty water to drink.

Qur'an 72:16 Notes[edit]

Yes, anyone who watches enough Bear Grylls knows you've to stick near streams if you're lost in the wild.

Qur'an 72:17[edit]

To test them with it. Whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will direct him to torment ever mounting.

Qur'an 72:17 Notes[edit]

More threats. This book is an incessant recitation of threats to believe this nonsense.

Qur'an 72:18[edit]

The places of worship are for God. So do not call, besides God, upon anyone else.

Qur'an 72:18 Notes[edit]

So what about the Islamic generals who broke into churches and temples and showed no reverence to God there?

Qur'an 72:19[edit]

And when the servant of God got up calling on Him, they almost fell on him in a mass.

Qur'an 72:19 Notes[edit]

Because he talks so much bullshit the loudspeaker was faulty?

Qur'an 72:20[edit]

Say, “I pray only to my Lord, and I never associate anyone with Him.”

Qur'an 72:20 Notes[edit]

Yes, I admire only my sovereign, and hate all the politicians who serve under her.

Qur'an 72:21[edit]

Say, “It is not in my power to harm you, nor to bring you to right conduct.”

Qur'an 72:21 Notes[edit]

Muhammad and Islamic generals have never forced anyone to convert.Do You Believe That?

Qur'an 72:22[edit]

Say, “No one can protect me from God, and I will not find any refuge except with Him.

Qur'an 72:22 Notes[edit]

No one can protect you from your own dreams, and only you can find mental refuge in them.

Qur'an 72:23[edit]

Except for a proclamation from God and His messages. He who defies God and His Messenger—for him is the Fire of Hell, in which they will dwell forever.”

Qur'an 72:23 Notes[edit]

Ouch.

Qur'an 72:24[edit]

Until, when they see what they were promised, they will know who is weaker in helpers, and fewer in numbers.

Qur'an 72:24 Notes[edit]

This is probably about Muhammad's well-organized army. Interesting to think about why a "messenger of God" needs a human army.

Qur'an 72:25[edit]

Say, “I do not know whether what you are promised is near, or whether my Lord will extend it for a period.”

Qur'an 72:25 Notes[edit]

Translation: I have no idea whether all that stuff promised in this book is real.

Qur'an 72:26[edit]

The Knower of the Invisible; He does not disclose His Invisible to anyone.

Qur'an 72:26 Notes[edit]

Are you trying to say that an invisible being in the sky won't disclose to us anything about the invisible entities he created and we'll just have to accept what this mideavil book has to say about it?

Qur'an 72:27[edit]

Except to a Messenger of His choosing. He then dispatches guards before him and behind him.

Qur'an 72:27 Notes[edit]

Hmm, so the messenger had to be in one of the most backward regions of the world, had to preach in a tribal script and language, and had to shed a lot of blood and destroy two great empires? Hmm...

Qur'an 72:28[edit]

That He may know that they have conveyed the messages of their Lord. He encompasses what they have, and has tallied everything by number.

Qur'an 72:28 Notes[edit]

Allah is also a great mathematician. That should be obvious, given how scientifically accurate this book is.Do You Believe That?
