Have these templates been added to our template list? They look very useful... ħuman 19:13, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- No, I've only just finished creating them. In fact, I don't think I've ever added of the templates I've created to the list, although I think other people may have done.
- At present I've put this up in the Saloon bar, but I'd like to put it up in a few other places too if there's support for it (WIGO:CP talk, main page talk, maybe the main page). WẽãšẽĩõĩďMethinks it is a Weasel 19:27, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- It looks good in the bar. I wouldn't go overboard with it though. I made one for my userpage, it's a neat way to have a "todo" list that stands out. It's also going to a be a "stupid" target if we aren't lucky... ħuman 20:30, 12 January 2009 (EST)
Should there be a link to itself on it? So that it'd be easier to get to? (with butter!) talk to Toast 21:14, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- Yes. One of those little far right superscripted "edit" links? or just the whole CB header? That might be teh ugly in lime... :( ħuman 21:36, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- Could a edit type link be put on the basic template somehow? (with multiple transclusions - might be tricky) (with butter!) talk to Toast 21:45, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- Are you seeing links in lime? To me it's still showing the original link colours. WẽãšẽĩõĩďMethinks it is a Weasel 21:43, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- Lime? yes. (with butter!) talk to Toast 21:45, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- I've put in a link to the chalkboard page for adding new entries. I'm still getting all links in blue/purple. WẽãšẽĩõĩďMethinks it is a Weasel 21:53, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- Same here. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 21:59, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- I just tried accessing it in Firefox & I see the new colour scheme, but Internet Explorer is still showing the old one. WẽãšẽĩõĩďMethinks it is a Weasel 22:00, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- It's the exact opposite for me: Old colours in FF, new ones in IE. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 22:02, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- Ah, waitaminute. Try reloading with Ctrl+F5. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 22:03, 12 January 2009 (EST)
- Yep, that's done it. Good one, AKJ. WẽãšẽĩõĩďMethinks it is a Weasel 22:05, 12 January 2009 (EST)

Board size[edit]
The current board is starting to fill up, could some geek make it scroll after a certain number of lines? Just floating an idea. Генгисmutating 20:00, 14 January 2009 (EST)
- The 6th parameter to Template:Chalkboard now specifies the maximum height. I've changed the community chalkboard's max height to 250px to demonstrate, but IMHO it's better to leave it without a max height and instead keep the number of items low. -- Nx talk 20:22, 14 January 2009 (EST)
- I've moved it to fifth perameter, as it makes more sense in a fairly logical order (width then height then text size), & changed height to 500px. The Chalkboard appears opposite long TOCs on the pages where it's displayed so there's plenty of room to expand. Basically once it gets so long that the scroll bar appears, that's really a cue to trim out some of the older entries. WẽãšẽĩõĩďMethinks it is a Weasel 20:33, 14 January 2009 (EST)
- I was actually suggesting an automatic rotating scroll cos I know you guys are shit-hot when it comes things like that. Генгисmutating 04:26, 15 January 2009 (EST)
- Stamp collecting? Genghis - it'll get you nowhere, this time I think. fröhlich "gay" and "happy" 04:41, 15 January 2009 (EST)
- I was thinking that it should randomly select the "stories", the sex template does it but I'm not sure how, it's something to do with reading the contents of a category so I doubt it can be applied in the same way here. But either way, it's worth keeping an eye on it and pruning it regularly. ArmondikoVpathetic 06:22, 16 January 2009 (EST)

Archiving[edit]
Should we at any rate be archiving the old stuff on the chalkboard (curious)? User:K61824User_talk:K61824 01:43, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
- Good point. Easy enough to do when deleting. Anyone want to dig through the diffs and get one started? ħuman 02:04, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
