Wanted to add:

Do we even need a voting thing? We can discuss pros and cons here surely? Totnesmartin 07:34, 27 February 2009 (EST)
Tot's right, voting really tells a potential user nothing - what would be more useful is actual talk of pros and cons. ħumanUser talk:Human 14:45, 27 February 2009 (EST)
Yes, I'd rather have the cons spelled out eg "sometimes crashes" or "it makes stupid noises that you can't turn off" etc. Shall I remove the arrows? (even though I really really really want to vote on that lump hammer in IE...) Totnesmartin 05:43, 28 February 2009 (EST)
In some cases it might be nice to have some screenshots, too. ħumanUser talk:Human 14:30, 28 February 2009 (EST)

Greasemonkey[edit]

<Ignorance> Someone exlpain Greasemonkey to me, please </Ignorance> ToastToastand marmite 05:59, 28 February 2009 (EST)

It's a firefox extension that allows you to run scripts with every page you load. It's like hacking a wiki with scripts in monobook.js, except you can do it to any website. -- Nx talk 06:12, 28 February 2009 (EST)
Thanks, I think. ToastToastand marmite 06:25, 28 February 2009 (EST)
Permit me to elaborate. GM is an extension that allows you to modify how specific websites are shown (like Nx said, similar to wiki scripts). For instance, you can install a GM script that adds a "Download this video" link to YouTube, alter how Google displays its results, or to block ads on a certain site. Think of it as an extension that runs lots of other little extensions. Wikipedia has an article that explains the technical aspects of GM. -Redbackon the toilet seat 07:23, 28 February 2009 (EST)

Cooliris[edit]

Worketh it on a Mac? Harmonic time Phantom! 08:16, 28 February 2009 (EST)

Verily I doth declare... yes. -Redbackon the toilet seat 08:25, 28 February 2009 (EST) MOAR: The "download" link on the main page gets you the Windoze version, the Mac version can be gots here.
It works, but it is too gaudy and useless for me so I removed it. Harmonic time Phantom! 11:35, 28 February 2009 (EST)
