Wow, nice! ħumanUser talk:Human 18:11, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

That's cool. At the risk of sounding like AS could it differentiate between article edits and talk page edits?--Bobbing up 03:07, 26 September 2008 (EDT)

To repeat what Bob asked above and what I've said elsewhere already, could you make the edit counter break down a user's edits by namespace? Like this:

Like this, Trent! --Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 03:33, 26 September 2008 (EDT)

Awesomeness! It breaks it down by namespace now! I really appreciate the effort, Tmtoulouse. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 15:54, 26 September 2008 (EDT)

Although, eheh, you forgot the "category talk" namespace. And it no longer gives a handy total for you. But minor quibbles, in light of what you've managed to do in only a day. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 15:59, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
Aye, I build things "piece meal" one step at a time, it fits well into my somewhat algorithmic thinking style. So things like "total" comes after all the other pieces are working. But it is all there for the most part now. Only thing bothering me is the "<" formatting for the percentage. tmtoulouse 16:35, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
Pie charts! Pie charts! New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 16:46, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
As explained on the page you can query this thing till your hearts content using the get syntax for the php script, and make as many pie charts as you could want. tmtoulouse 16:47, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
Sulk. New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 16:49, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
Tell ya what, you research how to do on the fly graphical charts using PHP and if you find out I will add it into the script. tmtoulouse 16:51, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
I was going to as if you could break it down by hour, so we could observe our own editing patterns throughout the day, but that would be asking too much, wouldn't it? Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 16:54, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
How is it you would want it broken down at that point? Like to be able to pick a month/day/year and see your per hour editing? tmtoulouse 17:02, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
No, it should be average, otherwise it wouldn't be very helpful. New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 17:05, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
Yes, that's what I was thinking, Tmtoulouse. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 17:09, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
Which, Pink's idea of averaging or an actual raw break down like we currently have for month/year? tmtoulouse 17:17, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
A raw breakdown. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 17:19, 26 September 2008 (EDT)
Wait! I meant an average. (Sorry, I got confused there.) I don't care to see my per-hour edit rate broken down by namespace, and I suspect neither will anyone else. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 06:12, 27 September 2008 (EDT)

Hmmm[edit]

What's this:

MediaWiki talk 36< 0.12%

Template 957< 3.21%

The less thans mean...? ħumanUser talk:Human 19:18, 27 September 2008 (EDT)

It is something the PHP number format is throwing in for some reason. Can't find any documentation on why it does and how to turn it off. tmtoulouse 03:32, 28 September 2008 (EDT)

Strange. ħumanUser talk:Human 03:33, 28 September 2008 (EDT)

Update needed[edit]

The dropdown box for "Year" only lists 2008 and 2007. I tried to work around that by querying via the url, but that didn't work either. I'll understand if it comes after the server move, but could you update the edit counter's script (or whatever the term is) to reflect the new year we are in? Bork?[edit]

Where's it gone? How can I do my mindless numbercrunching now? Rrose selavy 14:58, 18 June 2009 (UTC)

Until it gets fixed you can use the url version:

http://rationalwiki.com/editcount.php?name=Rrose selavy&month=09&year=2008

If you chop off the month and/or year part you'll get data over more time (like one year, or since you joined). ħumanUser talk:Human 23:45, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
