Talk:Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder/Archive1
maybe change of title[edit]
The term is actually Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, that's maybe useful.Carlo Landzaat (talk) 20:36, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
- Speaking of the title, I think that it shouldn't have every word capitalized.--ZooGuard (talk) 22:50, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
- I left it capitalized because its an acronym. The actual proper term is Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Mayhaps change to that then add a bunch of redirects. Or whatever, its unimportant.--NerdyWizard (talk) 22:55, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
Needs work[edit]
This article needs some smoothing out, but its got potential. I think the main issue that needs to get worked out are the unfunny anecdotal references and adding more bits on what the cranks say.--NerdyWizard (talk) 22:45, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
Adult adhd[edit]
There was a lot of talk early on that kids with adhd would not become adults with adhd. It was put as a childhood condition. There should be something on the issue of adults being treated for this. Hamster (talk) 00:56, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
- Added a section on adult ADHD. Adults definitely suffer from this (myself included), though most ADHD adults were also ADHD as children. Aristos achaion (talk) 04:26, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
"ADD is a fictitious disease" myth[edit]
We really should cover the oft-repeated (and thoroughly debunked) myth that Dr. Leon Eisenberg, one of the people who really helped diagnose and treat the condition, said the whole thing was made up. TokenSkepticMagician Talk, comments and 'UR a fag lol's 0:14 29 March 2014 (UTC)

- "Diagnosis requires a certain number of symptoms of either inattention or hyperactivity listed in the DSM to be present for at least six months". in plain words: "some of one thing or its opposite for not a too short while". - In what dictionary are "inattention" and "hyperactivity" antonyms? ℕoir LeSable (talk) 13:42, 4 April 2019 (UTC)
- What's the evidence-based criteria for prefixing a level of attention with "in" and a level of activity with "hyper"? The frustration of a teacher that can't offer enyting interesting to a curious child? There's so much quackery in this discipline.145.64.134.242 (talk)

Leon Eisenberg[edit]
First of all, why the openess?? Whatever, you should cover the cases were well known and respected medical scientists called ADHD a fabricated myth. For example Leon Eisenberg http://www.spiegel.de/spiegel/print/d-83865282.html And several others. Greets --92.227.215.48 (talk) 19:49, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- I already talked about it. And no, Eisenberg never said it was fake; he merely said it was over-diagnosed. Snopes thoroughly debunked that rumor. http://www.snopes.com/politics/quotes/adhd.asp User:TokenSkepticMagician Talk, comments and 'UR a fag lols' 21:51 16 June 2014 (UTC)
