2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

If I don't get to it in the next few days, someone remind me to write up a bit about the same idea in different faiths. I know there was once a Muslim heresy like this. Researcher (talk) 08:58, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Never mind, I can't find it now. Researcher (talk) 16:46, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Changing definitions of idolatry.[edit]

I'm amused that apparently us Atheists are worshipping an Idol (Richard Dawkins, according to GotQuestions), or a Christian.atheist is accused of doing something constantly (like video games), then said activity becomes an idol however when we accuse Christians of Bibliolatry, the definition turns to "Bowing down and explicitly calling said object a God".--TemplarJLS (talk) 08:50, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
