Voynich and the Chateau[edit]
See my further comment on the Rennes le Chateau page.
The Voynich manuscript is a peculiar thing - perhaps, along with the Anti-Kythera (sp?)machine a 'historical anomalies and oddities page' would surfice. Jackiespeel (talk) 15:17, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Norse pagan symbols on gun sights[edit]
Would not a triple-stacked Tiwaz rune or a Helm of Awe be more concise? ListenerXTalkerX 21:20, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, those would be concise, in my opinion. Lord Goonie Hooray! I'm helping! 21:23, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
- (Context: A blog entry mentioning hypothetical references to Eddaic poems on gun sights.) ListenerXTalkerX 21:25, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
- Probably, but I wanted to go with something as close as I could to the original. It should be noted that I didn't mean to write the whole thing out on the site, but just some kind of code like on the original. Either way, of course, it would be entirely wrong. Politics stuff[edit]
I've noticed you've just done Demarchy and Autocracy - Do you think all this sort of thing would require their own category, e.g., "Forms of government"? It's a bit more relevant and useful than the existing cats or something more general like "political terms". postate 16:41, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- We probably have some catching up to do... postate 16:42, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- I'm just going down our own list (slowly). I'm cool with a special category based on that. Researcher (talk) 16:45, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- I didn't know we had the list! Thanks for pointing to it. A cat, template and maybe some dpl magic might be in order soon I reckon. :) postate 17:00, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- DPL? Researcher (talk) 17:05, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- The thing that would list 6 random "forms of government" to stick in a template. It's not terribly difficult but fiddly if you've never done it before. postate 17:16, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- Aw, gotcha. Yeah, I've never done that, but if you have... Researcher (talk) 17:20, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the help[edit]
בכסווושלמ 16:57, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
- You're welcome. The rule against linking to hate sites doesn't come up often, but it's been the cause of massive edit warring (usually with regards to Metapedia.) Researcher (talk) 17:06, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

PLEASE tell me...[edit]
That it's just an unfortunate coincidence that someone is editing metapedia under the same name as you...P-Foster (talk) 06:23, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
- Based on what their edits look like over there, I would conjecture that (if it's our Researcher) they are trolling the Wiki. Anyone who's been around RationalWiki for more than 10 minutes would be able to point out all the nonsense in their article. - I was thinking Metapedia's "Researcher" was our recent "Research Psychologist", who stormed off in a huff when we took out his racism. Check the Metapedia user page - David Gerard (talk) 06:38, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
- Especially this edit comment, reproduced verbatim in MP's article on us...P-Foster (talk) 07:14, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing him out. His remaining edits were a mix of typo correction and vaguely racist rewording. ~ Kupochama[1][2] 08:30, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
- Not me. 100% not me. I felt horribly dirty the one time I tried to edit CP. MP fills me with nothing but pure, unadulterated rage. Researcher (talk) 12:34, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well, good to know, then, that you aren't a Metapedian. Also, good to see you around again. Lord of the Goons The official spikey-haired skeptical punk 03:33, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- I have been crazy busy the last several...months? I'm working multiple jobs, and trying to find a full-time career. But, I got a message about the talk on my page, so I responded. Researcher (talk) 03:35, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Liberal, leftist, nat'list...a writing assignment.[edit]
Here's my problem--you're right to use "liberal" in the correct sense of the word, BUT the link to liberal in the article goes to a BARELY competent, piece-of-crap article that we have that is mostly poor-quality snark fixated on the contemporary deployment of the term in US discourse with VERY little about what liberalism really is. The biggest paragraph in the article is dedicated to Phillip fucking Rayment, for Chissakes. We need a better article on liberalism. you the man. P-Foster (talk) 04:50, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- I see your point. If I ever get more than a few minutes, I'll try to do something with it. Maybe we should just remove the link then?Researcher (talk) 12:01, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Sorry to see you leave[edit]
But I get it: life has caught up to you. It's was nice getting to know you via the internet just the same, and especially to see another pagan about RationalWiki. Peace out. - Gabe Gooniepunk2010 as FrankThePseudoscientist (talk) 21:17, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Any chance of coming back?[edit]
I know you left becauuse of busy-ness--oh, I understand that--but we've been having wiki issues, and I was hoping to get some people back for a little bit, just to give the wiki some attention. Maybe you can, maybe you can't, but it'd be nice to see you. steriletalk 01:29, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
I'm here[edit]
Nice to hear from you. Human pops in every couple of months or so. I edited with SusanG/Toast for a while but not as devotedly as she. TotnesMartin is here but has a new ID. There's one or two others but most of the 2007-8 crowd have gone the way of all flesh. Scream!! (talk) 02:43, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
- Ah, well. Did you ahve a different name then? Researcher (talk) 02:48, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
- Sort of, I & 'Susan' Used the same accounts - sort of inverse sockpuppetry. We started with my name (Roger) And changed when she took more interest. Scream!! (talk) 02:57, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
- Oh, wow, I had no idea there were two people on that account. You all rock! Researcher (talk) 02:59, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

- Yeah, about 5 or so. I don't even know if I'll stick around, but I saw a link to RW, thought, oh, wow, haven't done that in forever, curious what's going on there now. I'm really impressed it's still going so strong! Researcher (talk) 09:56, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
