2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

One can see 'a group of scientists and other professionals' creating an equivalent of the RW Saloon Bar's Back alley/an informal discussion group to discuss offbeat/implausible ideas, 'and the six different ways in which that idea is stupid (including the one that He Who Must Not Be Named would come up with) etc. However if 'one or several' of them decided that 'public interest' overrode whichever equivalents of the UK's Official Secret Act they had signed, they would be clever and ingenious enough to find some way of (a) revealing the information to the public without being traced and/or (b) hiring a hack novelist to write an airport bookshop best-seller.
