It is certainly possible to influence the personality of people, and quite a lot of governments and religions did or do this. The line between propaganda and brainwashing is very thin, and as such hard to see. 10:33, 7 November 2008 (EST)

blame shifting para[edit]

So why was this para removed? I think it gives a good explanation why the theory is attractive and persists. Even if there is no evidence to support it, there is reason to expect it to persist. Andries (talk) 11:33, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

What do Abusive friends & loved ones, Cults, and Totalitarian governments have in common?[edit]

They all involve some form of brainwashing. This should be a HIGH priority article or at least a MID priority article.
