2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

Talk:British Isles

From RationalWiki

I think the image oversimplifies things. Great Britain in this context is presumably the island not the former country, and England, Wales and especially Scotland contain a lot of other islands as well as being mostly in Great Britain - so all three of their circles should escape the circle of Great Britain. Great Britain encompasses all the islands forming the country of Great Britain, which, as far as I'm aware still exists - it is after all a member of "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland". As the diagram shows this excludes CI & IOM & NI. Don't really matter though does it? Go, hie thee to Pedantry Corner. 16:32, 5 July 2010 (UTC) SusanG Toast

Mistake in the Venn Diagram[edit]

There is a mistake in the Venn Diagram. Can you spot it? Evil Zionist (talk) 17:42, 1 September 2017 (UTC)

Absence of Berwick upon Tweed (for historical reasons), Bramble Bank (once a year), Hy-Brasil (apparently once every seven years) Rockall and St Kilda? Anna Livia (talk) 16:39, 7 November 2017 (UTC)
