I'm sort of wondering why we have this?--BobNot Jim 13:34, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- It could be turned into a fun article. Why does RW have article on Middle Ages?--Earthland 13:36, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- Well, it's a problem with mission creep. Our missions are on the front page and "fun" is not in fact our primary mission. But every so often somebody writes something on their personal hobby horse and it survives. Then, of course, that becomes the justification for something else and so on. I moan about it ineffectually from time to time.--BobNot Jim 14:11, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- It's also mostly bollocks. Yeah, they did exist but it's a wildly overblown thing. Far more realistic is to say that chastity belts are primarily a modern re-inventions used in BDSM play. Seriously. Bob Soles 14:47, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, and don't ask how I know - I just do, OK. Bob Soles 14:53, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- Indeed. We have a fucking ton on human sexuality so if we want to delete this, we'd have to delete most of that - it's only considered "on mission" because its almost completely censored on Conservapedia. Now, the fact that the popular perception of it is overblown puts it sort of on mission as its a historical myth that's also used to denigrate the past as being a draconian theocracy (part of the - now deleted - religiondidit idea). moral 19:38, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- Fundamentalist and/or authoritarian suppression of human sexuality pretty much makes them all "on mission". ħuman 19:55, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

This seems relevant. --Kels 22:22, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
- Nice. Locksmiths made out like firemen back in the day... ħuman 22:57, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
One suggestion I came across somewhere - chastity belts were something 'women going on journeys' would deliberately put on as 'interference prevention system.' (Possibly also for use with sanitary protection). 86.146.100.21 (talk) 10:23, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
