2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Contradiction[edit]

These two paragraphs/sentences appear to contradict each other:

  • Colson is a supporter of intelligent design, an opponent of gay marriage, and a supporter of the war in Iraq. He was one of the five signatories to the "Land Letter" in 2002 stating that a "just war" case existed in favor of the Iraq War, giving George W. Bush theological sanction to invade Iraq. The other signatories were Richard Land, Carl D. Herbster, James Kennedy, and Campus Crusade for Christ founder Bill Bright.
  • In November 2009, Chuck Colson helped draft the Manhattan Declaration, calling for civil disobedience to laws affirming abortion rights and same-sex marriage.

Is he an opponent of or is he for the affirmation of same-sex marriage?-- Seth Peck (talk) 21:32, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

He's against. The Manhattan Declaration calls for "civil disobedience" against laws allowing same-sex marriage. Secret Squirrel (talk) 23:56, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
