## The time has come to set aside childish things

You are now a bureaucrat, demote people wisely my son. - User ${\displaystyle \scriptstyle -i\ln(-1)}$ 22:42, 11 March 2009 (EDT)

A rat? A rat??? You demoted me to an inferior form of rodent? Thanks..I think :) Secret Squirrel 22:54, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
Is it really fair to ask someone named after a 1990s kid show to "put aside childish things"? : ) Oh, and congrats on the demotion Secret Squirrel. Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 22:57, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
Hey, before it was a 1990s kid show it was a 1960s kid show. I'm not that young. Secret Squirrel 23:01, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
Pardon me; I only ever knew the good version 1990s incarnation. : ) Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 23:33, 11 March 2009 (EDT)
But where is Morocco Mole? Totnesmartin 06:29, 12 March 2009 (EDT)

## Oops

I mucked up your edit. Please see the thing I saved at the bottom of Southern strategy and put it where it belongs thanks, and sorry... ħuman 23:36, 23 March 2009 (EDT)

## User vs User talk

You do have complete control over everything in the space 2 that has your name, it is just space 3 like all the odd number space are community property. 199.33.173.1 08:28, 7 April 2009 (EDT) — Unsigned, by: Π / talk / contribs

I did sign. 199.33.173.1 08:37, 7 April 2009 (EDT) — Unsigned, by: Π / talk / contribs
Your sig doesn't link to your userpage and talk page. Try again. Also, WTF is "space 2" and "space 3"? Secret Squirrel 09:20, 7 April 2009 (EDT)
Here you said "I do not accept that the ultimate control of user space should be under anyone but the user" which is true as user space is space 2. User talk space is a clearly distinct space at a database level and is given the id space 3. Just because your name is next doesn't make it the same space. - User ${\displaystyle \scriptstyle -i\ln(-1)}$ 06:45, 8 April 2009 (EDT)

## 3 Months

A little ambitious. If you block yourself for months you will be unblocking twice a week. I tend to block myself for about a week at a time, get a few things done, then come back and carry on as before. I find it is good as you get a whole week rather than a few day which is what you get with a longer block. - User ${\displaystyle \scriptstyle -i\ln(-1)}$ 09:18, 12 April 2009 (EDT)

I wasn't honestly expecting to be gone 3 months at all, but I'm starting to scare even myself with far too much time spent adding details to articles on certain subjects (more details in private email.) Couldn't resist unblocking myself temporarily to throw in a comment about Sea Shepherd though. I'll be taking a break for a while. Besides, spring fever is setting in and that means its time to get outside and get back in shape. Secret Squirrel 09:37, 12 April 2009 (EDT)
Farewell Secret Squrrel, it's too bad you are leaving just as I was taking off my Diana Prince outfit and coming back out as Wonder Woman, I could use some new RatWiki pals. Mega 09:59, 12 April 2009 (EDT)
I'll be back...was gonna give you a going away gift but I see you're already a sysop. Secret Squirrel 10:10, 12 April 2009 (EDT)
Maybe you can kick me downstairs back to sysop when you come back, I'll probably have been promoted for excessive drama queenage by then! Mega 10:43, 12 April 2009 (EDT)

## Proposed award

I'm thinking of proposing you for "RationalWiki editor of the Millenium" or some such tripe. You exemplify our mission in so many ways with your contributions, and more importantly, don't appear to know or care what a thing called "conservapedia" is. Don't hide your nuts for now, I appreciate your endless additions of corrupt politicians, "religious leaders", and various and sundry movements against rationality to this site. I would actually recommend a newcomer to check your contribs if they "wanted to know what the site was about". You can stop blushing now. Comments?

"Conservapedia"...oh yeah, that :) Truth be told I stopped paying attention to it a while back because it's about 0.0001% of all the woo and crankery out there, and this site has potential to be much more than just the anti-Conservapedia. No awards plzkthnks though, that cheese-eating Wikipedia "defender of the wiki barnstar" stuff is for the birds :) Secret Squirrel 04:19, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
OK, I'll just collect a small bundle of acorns this autumn and leave them on your doorstep ;) ħuman 04:26, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
You can leave the acorns with Morocco Mole who will make sure I get them. Any sekrit messages can be passed along via the same channels. Secret Squirrel 04:31, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Excellent. ħuman 04:42, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

## This user thinks PETA stands for People Eating Tasty Animals, and hunts sea kittens.

You should add that to our easy-to-add userbox templates, it's funny, and others may want to use it... ħuman 06:53, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

## skwrl food and sekrit spy gadgets

## Talkpage archiving

I remember you once said that you have a preference just to let everything that is more than a certain page to just roll of the page. Do you want me to use the hidden Pibot archiving so that it just dumps everything in to one never to be seen near infinitely long archive? - π 01:30, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Nah, I'll just manually archive whenever I get the urge, which is once in a blue moon. Secret Squirrel 03:09, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
December 31st then. Nice to see you have New Year's Eve sorted out then ;) (November 21st 2010 if you use the more traditional definition). - π 03:26, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
But, but, 2012. December 21st, 2012. Secret Squirrel 03:56, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
Hey Squirrel, haven't bumped into you lately! Nice to see you around... so many nuts to store... ħuman 05:00, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────It's always fun to see you go on an editing binge here! ħuman 02:48, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Editing binges happen. Someone in teh Branson, Missouri area may have wired an anonymous donation to my Cayman Islands bank account along with a suggestion I write about a certain televangelist. jk That and I've been sitting here looking up all the worst absolute crap from the 80s I can find on Grooveshark. "Spies Like Us" by Paul McCartney, "Lucky At Love" by Mick Jagger kind of crap. Rubbish all. Had to go on a writing binge just to get those songs out of my head. ## I subtly insult you, you work on my article. Deal?

Are you familiar with the NAFTA Superhighway conspiracy theory? I copied what you deleted from the article to the red link you created. Seemed a pretty simple way to get it started. I also, note, let you know I did it. And of course I bin drankin'. ħuman 05:03, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
Better to start fresh tomorrow with an article on the piece o' shite pseudoscience of physical immortality. Also you two knock it off and play nice with each other. Secret Squirrel (talk) 05:08, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

All external links are rel=nofollow, so that's not a reason to not link to them. Using tinyurl makes baby Jesus cry, so if we must link to them, let's do it properly. -- Nx / talk 12:33, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Okie dokey :) I saw most of the Fred Phelps sites are already linked through tinyurl though. Secret Squirrel (talk) 12:34, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
I was not aware of that. I thought we didn't link to them at all. -- Nx / talk 12:36, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
There is a whole list of Phelps sites linked from Fred Phelps, via URL redirect. Should the links go entirely, left as is, or what? Secret Squirrel (talk) 12:38, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
I don't know, I'm just saying that using tinyurl is completely pointless, and it's a bad thing anyway. -- Nx / talk 12:41, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
I'm just going to leave them alone for now, but my own opinion is the Phelps links should go entirely. Maybe this is a borderline case. I don't care much for tinyurl, bit.ly and such either but had assumed (incorrectly) this was the best way to link *if* a hate site link was deemed necessary. Secret Squirrel (talk) 13:00, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
That's certainly what editors used to do in the days of WIGO 4th Reich. Maybe the rel=nofollow thing wasn't in place then, or maybe it was just cybersuperstition. WẽãšẽĩõĩďMethinks it is a Weasel 13:26, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

## You come back, Mr. Squirrel.

## Welcome back

Welcome back, editor of myth and legend. Тайговорить 22:10, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

Thanks :) Myth and legend, srsly? Never thought of myself as one of the old guard here.
I see there's been a lot of drama around the site lately... Secret Squirrel (talk) 22:30, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
That is a severe understatement, I'll re-sysop you now. And yes, compared to me at least, you're an old-guarder :) Тайговорить 22:32, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
There hasn't been drama - its just violent love. Aceace 22:35, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
Ah, of course :) Secret Squirrel (talk) 22:36, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanx for the resysop btw..didn't know I ever was unsysoped, but I did know about the mass de-bureaucrating thing. Secret Squirrel (talk) 23:34, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
No problem, the position of crate got axed, but the entire user rights table got the ax as well. Everyone who was active got sysop back, but those that weren't got lost in the shuffle. Тайговорить 23:59, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

That's probably the one place that it remains to be valid, given the reference. --Sethpeck (talk) 22:59, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

## You a former Libertarian Party member?

Your knowledge of Lew Rockwell trivia is impressive. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 11:01, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

I sorta have this love-hate thing going with Lew Rockwell.com. :) Secret Squirrel (talk) 11:05, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
I guess I'm a bit too lazy to separate the good stuff from the bull. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 11:10, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
There are some writers there whom I rarely disagree with - Laurence Vance, Becky Akers and Butler Shaffer come to mind, not to mention they've published Glenn Greenwald, Cindy Sheehan, Chris Hedges, Kirkpatrick Sale, Howard Zinn...and anyone who favorably cites Benjamin Tucker and Rudolf Rocker can't be all bad. Normally the level of bull on a site like that would be a deal-killer but I dunno. The woo promotion and neo-Confederatism both seem to come from a reflexive anti-statism that says that because the government says x is good and y is bad, then the opposite is true, and some of it I just don't understand why they clutter the site up with at all. Their early 1990s alliance with paleocons and right wing populism, on the other hand, was inexcusable and completely counterproductive, and iirc brought a lot of really bad elements into the libertarian movement that are still a problem. Secret Squirrel (talk) 11:36, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

## Trolling for recommendations

Beyond Radicals for Capitalism, I've read Selling the Free Market. Is there anything else you would consider essential reading on the libertarian movement? Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 04:22, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Going to a libertarian forum is usually a good start, if you want to see how a political philosophy gets filtered down to the plebians. :-) Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 04:24, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Been there, done that. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 04:25, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Radicals for Capitalism is the really essential one. Also try The Ayn Rand Cult by Jeff Walker, for specifically the Objectivism movement. Jerome Tuccille's It Usually Begins With Ayn Rand should be mentioned - it's a funny and snarky take on 1960s-1970s libertarians and some of the nuts they attracted. I've not read Selling the Free Market. Secret Squirrel (talk) 10:29, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Selling the Free Market isn't strictly about libertarianism, but much of what the author calls "economic correctness" was generated from that milieu. Will check out some of the ones you listed, thanks. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 01:09, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

## Quit it

Stop reverting my changes without even giving a fucking reason. "Obama fanboy" is not a fucking reason, is it? At most, I have inserted counterarguments to claims I have found misinformed. Mr. Anon (talk) 02:28, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

I have a habit of making my own personal edit summaries, separate and often irrelevant to the edits in question (which are often minor). If this is what you have a problem with, clearly way so. But quit reverting minor edits without a valid reason. Mr. Anon (talk) 02:45, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

What I have a problem with is you toning down or qualifying criticism of that execrable fraud, Mr. Hopey-Changey, and turning good articles on e.g. Glenn Greenwald into attack articles. Secret Squirrel (talk) 03:00, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

## Invisible Hands

Aww darn, I thought this might be related to that article I just started, lol. I was unaware of it until now, but it looks like something to read - keeping in mind my "to read" pile is a bit high right now. BTW I don't know if I mentioned this one before, but Before the Storm: Barry Goldwater and the Unmaking of the American Consensus by Rick Perlstein is a good one if you haven't read it already. Hah, I can send you some of my spam if you want. I've read Perlstein's Nixonland -- is this just as good? Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 01:09, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
I haven't read Nixonland yet so I can't compare them. Before the Storm is not just about Goldwater but also how the whole New Right came about. Secret Squirrel (talk) 01:28, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

## Paramilitary woo

I don't know if this is what you're going for, but I wrote up a section on pseudopsychology in the military and security forces that might be helpful. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 00:46, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

Hmm..it's kind of related but not quite. That is woo being adopted in the actual military and police. But it is definitely related. Secret Squirrel (talk) 00:50, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

## Paramilitary Woo

"Finally getting around to this, and honestly I don't know where to begin. Making an attempt at a start." I think it's a pretty good start! Have you read The Book of Five Rings?
