As was said on Penn & Teller's Bullshit, calling something "bullshit" is apparently not libelous - and anyway, I'm not sure you can sue a wiki for libel because of the ever changing nature of the beast. But some expansion and sources could be useful. It's certainly an interesting subject to look at. Scarlet A.pngd hominem 20:24, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

The concept (of considering aspects other than the symptoms etc in question) is valid but the application (including components of New Ageism and other woo) is not. 212.85.6.26 (talk) 18:15, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

I agree. For every bullshit belief, there's a grain of truth. As a sociologist, I can tell you that there are actually social causes of disease. The most common ones are the extent of one's social network, marriage, socioeconomic class, religion, type of work, status in workplace hierarchy, etc. There have been a pleothra of studies showing this, and those studies have exhausted the list of control variables like diet, exercise, smoking, age, gender, mental conditions, previous conditions etc. The bullshitters have basically taken a valid concept and twisted it to fit their spiritual woo worldview. Preventitative medicine and public health initiatives is the real holistic medicine.Xilu carim (talk) 12:31, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

Not garbage[edit]

There is a natural and spiritual cure for everything. Talsley (talk) 17:01, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Well reasoned. Thanks for dropping by. Cow...Hammertime! 17:08, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
Is this cure called "death"?--Weirdstuff (talk) 19:15, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Lead[edit]

I'm still confused about what holistic medicine actually means. That big blockquote in the lead doesn't really help.--Кřěĵ (ṫåɬк) 13:47, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
