Why? What did I do wrong? Talsley (talk) 15:24, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

Your edits to the Maharishi article were without citation. Granted, what you removed wasn't cited either, but on this wiki such claims are allowed so long as they're easily verifiable. Also, your talk page edits expose you as a crank. You're free to stick around, but you won't be very popular.--User:Brxbrx/sig 15:27, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
I am not a crank. That was a smear attack on the Maharishi! I was improving the article! Talsley (talk) 15:29, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
It's not an uncommon allegation. A better improvement would be to refute the claim, with citations. That would certainly not be reverted.--User:Brxbrx/sig 15:33, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
But how do I cite a person? Talsley (talk) 15:34, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Find a website that refutes the allegations of sexual misconduct by the Maharishi, then put the url between these tags:<ref>www/examplewebsite.com</ref>. Do try and find a reputable site, and not just some blog. You may also cite magazines, books, or newspapers, but that's a little trickier.--User:Brxbrx/sig 15:40, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
No, I mean citing my friend Hope. Talsley (talk) 15:41, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
You can't just cite your friend. It has to be something of scholarly significance. Maybe your friend has written something on the matter, or can point you to whatever led her to form this opinion in the first place?--User:Brxbrx/sig 15:43, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Now listen. Hope is a very intelligent and spiritual person, she runs our retreats. I'm not spending my social security on a fraud! Talsley (talk) 15:45, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Go to google. Type in Mahrishi sex scandal. Find results which proclaim his innocence. Give me the results and I'll add them to the article myself.--User:Brxbrx/sig 15:49, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Google isn't giving me anything. I'll have to ask Hope next time I see her. Talsley (talk) 15:54, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I am of the opinion that this user is a parodist.[edit]

I place this here for purposes of informing others who entertain similar suspicions, and for discussion.--User:Brxbrx/sig 16:54, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

No, this user is actually a parodist. A really bad one at that. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 17:44, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Rather than answering me, you say "she's a parodist". If that doesn't show you have no proof nothing does. Talsley (talk) 17:48, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Seriously, people, stop bothering. Not even a paultard could manage this combination of absurd liberal and conservative stereotypes. He's a parodist.--User:Brxbrx/sig 18:37, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

I'm smelling Poe, but that's the thing about Poe, you never know until you see the smiley. Bad Faith (talk) 14:55, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
You ridicule me, but you have only offered few shreds of evidence. Talsley (talk) 14:56, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
a few shreds of evidence - which is far more than you have offered. All you offer is unfounded poppycock. Bad Faith (talk) 15:21, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Belief is more important than evidence. And any evidence I offer will just run contrary to your liberal indoctrination! Talsley (talk) 15:22, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

There is no god, you're only hearing the echoes of your own mind. Bad Faith (talk) 15:37, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
I meditate for 3 hours a day, and God talks to me. I can hear his voice in my mind. You are listening to psychobabble. Talsley (talk) 15:39, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

"I am a strong believer in the South."[edit]

Like my 6-year-old is a strong believer in Santa Claus? B♭maj7 "Voted in two different votes, but there was never a vote." 15:01, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

I think it's a conspiracy of cartographers. They're all in it together, financed by Big Pharma. Bad Faith (talk) 15:03, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Southern values like charity, kindness, politeness, and family. You fools probably have been brainwashed into thinking that the civil war was about slavery. Everyone knows that it truthfully was about State's Rights. There's a reason the South has the lowest crime rate in the world. Talsley (talk) 15:10, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Another unfounded and untrue assertion. I'll bet your eyes are brown, that's how full of shit you are. Bad Faith (talk) 15:17, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Mind your tongue. Talsley (talk) 15:17, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
The civil war was largely a conflict of different cultures. The south was an agraic honor-society, the North an industrial, urban (as much as that was possible at the time) and liberal (again, for that time). The only reason it was also about slavery is because the Southerners would have had to pay actual money to get workforce then. Puts a whole new meaning to "wage slavery". I want evidence for the crime rate thing - no wait that's bullshit anyway. --ʤɱ anti-communist 15:28, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
When I was growing up on the Eastern Shore, there was never a crime in town. When I lived in Mississippi, nobody needed to lock their doors at night. Talsley (talk) 15:29, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
When you lived in Mississippi you could walk home safely at night by the light of the burning crosses. Bad Faith (talk) 15:32, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Exactly. The freer the market, the freer the people. Talsley (talk) 19:55, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Actually, liberalism is only about submission if you're into that sort of thing; you can be a domme if you want too. However, the important thing to remember is that the sub is actually the one in charge. EVDebs (talk) 19:10, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Is this still about politics? --ʤɱ libertarian 20:25, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Yes. Obviously the cultural and business elites are liberals, and the submissive masses are liberals as well. They prostate themselves for the dole, having taxes and regulation rammed down their throat. Talsley (talk) 20:29, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Tal, Tal, Tal. I presume you have interests you want protected, yes? Well, so do liberals. Government, when properly performing its function, is meant to do that in an impartial manner. And it's not about sucking off the dole, it's about having what you need to be a productive member of society. Conservatives do the same thing; they either just don't acknowledge it or assume everyone else doesn't deserve it. But on some level, you know this already. Vandalism[edit]

I am still waiting for an answer, or have you blocked me for disagreeing with you? Talsley (talk) 20:45, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
You're either a Poe or an idiot. I'm inclined to believe the former, since your goal seems to be just to cause trouble with every edit you make, and you appear to take every pseudoscientific claim at face value. Keep in mind we are not Wikipedia, nor do we try to be. (ʞlɐʇ) ɹǝɯɯɐHʍoƆ 21:10, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

If you consider "best possible guess based on the existing data" an ideology, I guess so. As it happens, that's how we're supposed to do things around here. EVDebs (talk) 22:21, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

You have now admitted that your position is unsound. Talsley (talk) 22:22, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Only in your rather warped view of the world. You, on the other hand, have proven nothing except that you're here to troll and annoy. EVDebs (talk) 22:24, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
You just stated that you use guesses. Therefore you admit you may not be correct. Talsley (talk) 22:25, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
That's how science works. That's what we try to do around here. If a guess doesn't pan out, part of explaining that is trying to explain why it seemed to work the first time around. Do try to keep up. EVDebs (talk) 22:27, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, it has been 60 years since I last took a course, but it sounds like you just said that science is mere guesswork. Talsley (talk) 22:30, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
That isn't what I said and I'm reasonably certain you know that. Educated guesswork. Emphasis on "educated'. EVDebs (talk) 22:35, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
But our schools and colleges are now little more than indoctrination centers. How can most people who went to school post 1970s be considered educated? Talsley (talk) 22:36, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

So wait, on a cognitive level here, language is a creature of the mind, since it's formed before we actively make it; it's also a biological creature of the biological brain since it exits in our heads, without anyone teaching it to us. So when you say "mind your language", what does that mean, exactly. That we should move our language from the biological brain to the metaphsyical/philosopical mind? and if so, what, if not language, is there already. and how exactly can we do this. I'm sure it's something to do with chemistry.

Oh, deary me, Talsley, no, no, no, no, no! The image you're trying to portray is an uptight virgin librarian from Texas, not Schafly in a skirt. You need something more along the lines of "He is saying nasty words, just like I hear on those awful television programs. I cannot abide such filth on my talk page. I will insist on decency." If she's (you're) to blame liberals you need something like, "My pastor, the Reverend A Nalprobe, tells me that it's because the commies taking over Hollywood.". See what I mean? I have never been to Texas and my late ex-husband was a construction worker. He said those words every time he got home from work. Nah, we aren't allowed to speak freely (yes, you are reading correctly) so that the "good Christian" parts of society don't have to think of the evil act of sexual intercourse. You can't even spell. Such are the new school systems. The only grade is "L" which indicates that learning is taking place. this user is opposed to communism[edit]

So why are you opposed to communism? I rather think that the idea of personal property has limited advantages, when we are talking natural resources. Why should oil not be a shared resource, when it's part of our national heratige. Why should some Big Company make money off the trees that are in our natural forests? --Pink mowse.pngGodotGrow a vagina 17:47, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

A big company should not, as corporations are a malign influence on the United States. Communist's surrendering of all things to the government is exactly what Ben Franklin warned about. Felicitatious salutations, my Antipodean frateris familias! How was your intoxicating imbibment of the preceding solar sojourn? My heartiest cognescients to your spouse!
What tickles me in this is that Madam's emphasis on small business is so dreadfully Leninist. Marx identified - to crudely paraphrase - the succession of control from state, to small business, to corporate monopolies, back to state controlled corporations, then revolution, then communism. Yet while Marx identified Big Business as the genesis of the communist revolution, Lenin argued it was the small businesses; those still independent enough to think for themselves rather than being the mindless drones of machine-hall and market. So Madame Talsley here is a Leninist. Lovely! Been to Moscow, Madam? I highly recommend visiting Lenin's tomb. He'd appreciate your effort. Ironclad (talk) 00:25, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
Is that the propaganda you've been taught? Sickening. Talsley (talk) 00:33, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

Sadly though my dear, I'll have to end this on my part. You don't possess the requisite background knowledge and you can't discuss economics without it; no more than I can discuss jet propulsion or Japanese poetry without first opening a book on the subject. But fear not; none of us were born with such knowledge, and we all acquired it somewhere. I highly recommend: Galbraith, J (1987)A History of Economics: the past as the present, London: Hamish Hamilton Publishers. Go on, give it a go. Not that long ago, I too opened it for the first time. Give it a go. If you're going to fly the flag for laissez-faire Spinozian small-business economic systems, you might as well know the relevant theories. Enjoy! Communist[edit]

If you are calling any modern Democrat a "communist", I don't know what you would be calling JFK, RFK, FDR, Dennis Kucinich, and Bernie Sanders, who are all similar in views to Minority Leader Pelosi or more liberal. I also wonder who you would call a "centrist". Ron Paul? Mr. Anon (talk) 16:37, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

Paul is a Nazi. Romney is a centrist. 19:11, 8 June 2012 (UTC) — Unsigned, by: Talsley / talk / contribs 19:11, 08 June 2012 (UTC)
So you admit that Nazis represent the right wing? That is good. But you still haven't answered my question. What would you call the Kennedies, Roosevelt, Kucinich, Sanders, Lee, etc? Mr. Anon (talk) 21:21, 8 June 2012 (UTC)
Communists. Talsley (talk) 15:34, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
Ron Paul is not right wing. He is in his own fantasy universe which defies description. Talsley (talk) 15:40, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
Paul is right wing, as you can see in the source I gave.
And here is where you have fallen for my trap card. FDR was not a communist. He made this very clear through his policies, where his regulations were intended to preserve the free market, not destroy it. His New Deal relied heavily on private-sector cooperation. During his campaign, he actually accused Hoover of being a "socialist" and his attempts to balance the budget actually caused a double-dip recession. Roosevelt was a liberal, not a communist. If he was a communist, he would have nationalized all the banks, but instead he just bailed them out.
Same with the modern-day Senators and Congresspeople that I pointed out. Bernie Sanders, a Democratic Socialist, has no intention of putting all industry in public control; rather he believes that certain sectors, such as health and education, are best left to the people to control, while other sectors like technology should be in the hands of the private sector. Mr. Anon (talk) 16:05, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
Liberals are communists. Deny it all you like. Talsley (talk) 16:07, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
Directly from the dictionary:
Communism: a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.
Left-wing politics: a concern for those in society who are disadvantaged relative to others and an assumption that there are unjustified inequalities (which right-wing politics views as natural or traditional) that should be reduced or abolished.
Clearly, those are two different things.
Oh, I can't believe I forgot about my Kennedy trap card! Are you really going to argue that John Fucking Kennedy was a communist? The guy who tried to assassinate Fidel Castro (and according to some theories got assassinated in return) and fought the Soviet Union hard? Mr. Anon (talk) 04:20, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
Talsley, if we permabanned people for being irrational, you'd be pretty high on my hit list. Words have meanings, and as a general rule you don't get to decide what they are, nor do you get to tell people what they believe. Do try to get up to speed on that terminology thing.
