The foreskin normally...[edit]
...gets buried just the rest of the body in Judaism. Now who did steal his foreskin instead of getting it 6 feet under?!--Arisboch (talk) 04:25, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
- Is it customary to even save the foreskin after circumcision? Or does the foreskin get a separate burial shortly after? I honestly do not know this. If the first is true, the possibility of the relic existing goes up at least a little.
- Then again, if the foreskin was placed in the tomb with Jesus, it might have resurrected when he did. - Smerdis of Tlön, A ⇒ ¬A. 04:33, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
- The foreskin is buried after the brit milah (immediately after the ceremony); The same goes for any body parts a Jew may have the misfortune of losing during his/her life. --Arisboch (talk) 06:48, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
- I figured it was something like that. I can't imagine why anyone would save them. Then again, the customs of the first century might have been different, as was the amount of skin taken in circumcision. - Smerdis of Tlön, A ⇒ ¬A. 17:47, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
