2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

Articles about living people must be handled carefully, because they are more open to legal threats.
Reference any contentious allegations solidly; unreferenced allegations should be removed.
If legal threats are raised on this page, please direct the potential litigant to RationalWiki:Legal FAQ; do not interact with them.

Updating the article[edit]

Since the trial wrapped up there's been a lot more conspiracy theories floating around out of alt-right circles trying to paint Fields as innocent. I think this article should be updated to keep up with these new lies and excuses (plus the evolving conspiracy theory around Dwayne Dixon who actually testified at the trial). Lying by omission[edit]

[1] Why would you hide this fact? Are you so biased towards a political opinion that you would happily lie about it to defame opponents and create a false victim narrative? That is utterly disgusting. On "Rationalwiki". What abject scum you people are. 82.132.215.214 (talk) 07:23, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

Hitting a car does not justify vehicular homicide. Besides, Fields had malice aforethought.[2] Your statement is irrelevant. Bongolian (talk) 07:40, 10 April 2019 (UTC)

Primary Sources?[edit]

I think it would be good to get some primary sources instead of all news articles. They contain more information and won't have any media bais. I've only just done my research and this is my first time contributing so I'm leaving them here in case this is a bad idea.
