- No. It's entirely serious.</holding in laughter> Actually, the last paragraph is slightly serious, IMHO. 204.14.13.100 15:15, 29 October 2007 (EDT)
The Subtext[edit]
You should understand that the discussion of secret societies is embedded within the text intentionally. On the surface, the speech is about the degree to which Communism is a threat to the U.S. As well, it's an encouragement to the press to continue the work of enlightening the citizenry but to sometimes use caution in the event that information is somewhat detrimental to American interests. The secret society section is included in the guise of a commentary on Communism. He is instead talking about the degree to which entities like the Third Reich, the Vatican, the Masons, et al. are in fact societies that are working to promote a particular kind of existence on earth. (I won't elaborate on that, since it will be lengthy. See U.N Agenda 21 and U.N. Agenda 2030.) To use an overblown academic word, the content about secret societies is the subtext, but also the central message, wrapped within a traditional (but well spoken) presidential address. And for any American in the year 2015 who doesn't believe that secret societies exist, please just be more vigilant, and don't let the highest powers steal away your rights as a citizen of the Republic. — Unsigned, by: 73.16.75.157 / talk / contribs 21:47, 4 December 2015
- Well it's a well-known fact, sonny-jim, that there's a secret society of the 5 wealthiest people in the world, known as The Pentavirate, who run everything in the world including the newspapers, and meet tri-annually in a secret country mansion in Colorado known as The Meadows. (So who's in this Pentavirate?) The Queen, the Gettys, the Rothschilds, the Vatican...and Colonel Sanders before he went tits up! Ooh I hated the Colonel, with his wee beady eyes and that smug look on his face! Ohh you're gonna buy my chicken! Ooh! (Dad, how can you hate the Colonel?) Because he puts an addictive chemical in his chicken that makes you crave it fortnightly, smart ass! --Ymir (talk) 22:34, 4 December 2015 (UTC)
- And the evidence that this highly publicized speech was some sort of secret subtextual code is...? Kennedy was actually a huge supporter of the UN. Read his speeches: "The United Nations must be supported by all those who exercise their franchise here. And its operations must be backed to the end. [...] The United Nations, building on its successes and learning from its failures, must be developed into a genuine world security system." Agenda 21 has been touted as a conspiracy by Glenn Beck; if that's your source, I suggest finding a better one. The Third Reich was dead by the 60s, so I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. There's a difference between acknowledging the existence of secret socities and thinking they're running the planet. The former is real, the latter is tinfoilhattery. 2A00:23C7:99A4:5000:7CDF:110F:5167:247B (talk) 17:59, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

- (Response) Given the problems with the above sentence (capitals, grammar, misspelling, all pronouns, reference to the beast, and absence of signature) the statement is automatically discounted.
Suggestion[edit]
Given the release of documents, this and the upcoming anniversary should this and related pages be particularly 'looked after' (rather than protecting) for the next 2-3 weeks? Anna Livia (talk) 00:36, 6 November 2017 (UTC)
Jsut wondering[edit]
JFK, CS Lewis and Aldous Huxley all died on the same day - what would their conversation have been when they met up at the Pearly Gates. Anna Livia (talk) 18:39, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
- I’d be more interested in what the tinfoil hat crowd has to say about that coincidence.209.134.40.250 (talk) 17:29, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
The senator from Louisiana[edit]
Does anyone want to attempt an article about the other John Kennedy? 209.134.40.250 (talk) 17:36, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
