For those mercifully unfamiliar with Burchill's long history of unremitting horror, the Wikipedia article is good for cribbing and de-neutralising - David Gerard (talk) 23:46, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

It's only scratching the surface. I used to sometimes read her weekend Guardian column a few years ago, out of morbid curiosity/boredom, & there'd very regularly be something fairly offensive. I remember the Irish-baiting comments (though I didn't realise it became a legal issue until I looked it up again today). & There was this weird rant about fag hags (obviously not quite understanding the whole concept). Plus anti-Muslim comments aplenty & various other minority-bashing. WëäŝëïöïďWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 00:21, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
I first read Burchill at the tail end of her NME career in 1982. It was amusing for a few months when I was fifteen - David Gerard (talk) 10:23, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

Books section[edit]

The paragraph under "Books" is all over the place and has grammar issues that make it more confusing. I'm going to try to rewrite it so it, at least sounds coherent. If my changes make it factually wrong, revert or revise with no care for my feelings. It'll still be a dog's breakfast afterwards, just one with a few more recognizable ingredients DerFluchtPlan (talk) 16:25, 16 December 2020 (UTC)

Given that you think ‘last’ (as in previous) and ‘penultimate’ (as in the last one before the final one) are synonyms, maybe refrain from criticising other people’s grammar and use of language. Again, I’m deeply sorry about missing out the extremely obvious word ‘was’. I’m sorry it caused you such deep distress. Scribbinus (talk) 21:24, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
Yep. It wasn't clear. I guessed and knew I had a chance I was wrong. You clarified, so YAY, it's better. DerFluchtPlan (talk) 21:37, 16 December 2020 (UTC)

Biphobia[edit]

Not sure this works as a smoking gun in the context that Burchill is bisexual herself and has had long-term relationships with women and men - David Gerard (talk) 11:41, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
