Section Khmer Rouge Crimes[edit]

The stuff here seems kind of plagiarized, to me. Sounds like something taken from a Cold-War era source who is a little too eager to wank off authoritarian regime as long as they aren't commies. Even if it isn't plagiarized, the writing style is far too narrative and sensationalized, doesn't really fit in with the wiki format. — Unsigned, by: 74.71.160.176 / talk

If it was plagiarized, please list the source. БaбyЛuigiOнФire🚓(T|C) 02:19, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

CIA involvement[edit]

I watched a video by Luna Oi! (a Vietnamese YouTuber) in which she explained how the CIA was involved in the rise of Khmer Rouge.

Basically the Khmer and the Vietnamese were allies in the start, but as the time went on, Pol Pot split with the Vietnamese due to his own nationalist reasons. Later on he became antagonistic towards the Vietnamese and, Pol Pot being Pol Pot, massacred a lot of Vietnamese. And because American military was in Vietnam war, CIA backed the Pol Pot against the Vietnamese. China wanting a good strategic location, betrayed Vietnam and also backed Pol Pot. After Pol Pot had died, China regretted it and now is trying to reconcile with Vietnam.

I don't know if it weighs. Her video description has a lot of references. ASerb (talk) 14:55, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
