Suicides[edit]

I feel there were more cases of suicides due to generative AI. Recently a lonely teenager committed suicide after using Character.AI, which they also have their own other issues. I’ve also seen a case where someone committed suicide after talking to a Chatbot about the state of climate change and if there’s hope to which the bot answered no.[1]

On the subject I’ve also seen many artists become more and more suicidal seeing as how their dream job (which let’s be honest they weren’t having it easy with greed and exploitation) would be null, from having to deal with potential accusations of theft (using Generative AI) to even just being able to be sustainable. I’ll have to admit as someone still recovering from depression these desperate thoughts do show their ugly heads because of how (honestly) fucked we are because some greedy soulest fuckwits just want even more money like spoiled rats who rely on legal speak thinking the law (which they influence) is a good reference for morality and wilfull ignorance. [2][3] Sorry for my language but I’ve seen this happen and I think this might at least get mentioned. Here’s some article I found that might help on this (don’t know if it’s noteworthy enough but why not). I’ll admit this first one[4] [5]

I’m okay for those worried just if you’ve been through depression you know how after it’s never linear.

Generative AI article[edit]

On the subject of Generative AI I added that to the list of article suggestions recently though no draft has started yet. Though this article is good itself I feel Generative AI, whislt similar to this article would be a good idea. For more info I’ve laid it out in the suggestion in the year 2024

Yeah, it's been planned earlier to "do later" but not done yet. This article was made after the ChatGPT one grew, moving some things to this one, and likewise material growing lately in this article would be moved to a new "Generative AI" article since it's more general, alongside any new stuff focusing on art etc. --ApooftGnegiol (talk) 19:22, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

(A rant) about a narrative of GenAIs from their users and enthusiasts[edit]

Perhaps this would be a more fitting discussion topic for Talk:Persecution complex, but from subjecting myself to the horror of reading discussions on Twitter, r/defendingAIart (and the squabbles in RW, too, as a no-name lurker), I've seen an emerging rhetoric from the pro-AI people that being anti-AI is emotionally-charged, groupthink, dogpiling, or at the very least out of past conceptions rather than evidence and Rationality™. I'll admit that I'm completely NOT level-headed enough to explore this in-depth without getting an aneurysm from raging. But when there are still mountains of venture capitals and cash behind this technology, trying to "balance both sides" might very well benefit the rich and the powerful anyway. 14.241.247.198 (talk) 05:04, 11 May 2025 (UTC)
