2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

Cousin marriage[edit]

Is seen as 'acceptable' (with some provisos) in many areas even in the present Queen Victoria married her cousin

In many polytheistic religions the gods are incestuous in many different ways (along with the Egyptian sibling marriage etc) - so some of the Bible stories would be regarded in a different way to now. Anna Livia (talk) 12:48, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

Just looking it up (I've never thought about it before) it seems that the US is in a minority in banning or even criminalising cousin marriage. wp:Cousin_marriage. Scream!! (talk) 15:06, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
