Hey
So, what was that about me not copying others' "sigs"? You mean signatures? Thank you. Dandtiks69 (talk) 22:29, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
I appreciate
your catching and fixing my missed signature at Talk:European witch-hunts. Looking at it I see I hit four "!"s instead of "`"s. For reasons best explained over a six pack, many of my edits end abruptly and this seems to have been one. Thanks, Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 08:00, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
Don't put refs on talk pages
so . . . . .why? Or perhaps why not? Carptrash (talk) 19:11, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
- Cos pages get archived & the {{reflist}} might not get archived with the refs. Also could be a long way away from the <ref> point. Folk on talk pages don't (generally) want to be bounced to the bottom of the page. It's been an (unwritten?) rule ever since ... Scream!! (talk) 19:33, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

I'd like to remind you that rolling back legitimate edits is tantamount to vandalism. I'm referring of course, to the changes of mine you undid on The Amazing Atheist's article. — Unsigned, by: NebXan / talk / contribs
- Removing sourced content wasn't exactly legitimate. Perhaps two sourced quotes for the article?-- Forerunner (talk) 00:56, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
- Looking at past comments & edits, I stand by the roll back. TJ is a rather loathsome character. Taking a quote from a self published book (for an editor's one and only edit) changing the entire drift of the article without first discussing on the talk page is not good practice. Scream!! (talk) 13:05, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
If the TAA article talk page consensus really was that I'm wrong, how come so many of the arguments I put forth for changing the quote went unrefuted. If there really is overwhelming support for keeping the quote, I don't see any of it. Just a handful of assholes like you that refuse to listen to reason. --NebXan2 (talk) 18:46, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

- The parts I've removed were added by a drive-by bible apologist. He's tried to imply that the Hyksos were the Jews mentioned in the Exodus, a frivolous theory that is not supported at all. After I removed it it was returned back with a link to the Wikipedia page for the Hyksos, which is not supporting at all this theory either. Man, I should put somewhere a claim that the native americans were originally jews, link the wikipedia article for the native americans, and then continue reverting anyone removing it. Would you like that? Typhoon (talk) 20:15, 6 September 2015 (UTC)

Do you even have a job?
Or even leave your room? Because you wouldn't even be able to keep a job at McDonald's with the social ineptitude you display here considering that "fuck off" and ALL CAPS makes up 95% of your vocabulary. Not to mention you'd be banned for trolling rather than made an admin on any legitimate website other than this freak show.
How about you take a shower, get some sunshine, talk to a few people in real life, and make at least 1 IRL friend, and realize that once this site finally bites the dust that it's all you have in your miserable life.
P.S. Ad homs are a logical fallacy and highly irrational. Thanks for the screenshot material though, ugly degenerate. --206.255.12.41 (talk) 08:28, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- No, I don't have a job - at 71 years old I figure I've done my share. I probably wouldn't get a McD or BurgerK job 'cause I find it difficult to tolerate idiots. "Fuck off" is the only sort of language some folk are worthy of and I don't think(?) I've ever used "ALL CAPS" in any post on this site, always willing to be shown otherwise though.
- I had a shower about an hour ago and walk at least seven miles a day, rain or shine. I have several IRL (strange to use an abbreviation when the rest of the entry is so verbose[!]) friends although I must confess that I have outlived most of them. I honestly think that this site will outlast my existence - I have plenty of other things in my quite happy life.
- Ad homs are satisfying though, aren't they? You obviously think so, judging by your entry above.

Suggestions
Once an article is created those entries are removed from the archive and the entry is then placed in New articles section. This is how it has always worked. NothingToSeeHere (talk) 20:41, 31 May 2021 (UTC)
- No it hasn't. Scream!! (talk) 20:44, 31 May 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, it has. Under the section marked Housekeeping it says:
- "Comment out older ideas if downvoted to death.
- Move ideas with over 150 votes to the Most wanted articles section.
- Move ideas that have been turned into articles to the New articles section."
- Now stop your disruptive reverts. NothingToSeeHere (talk) 20:49, 31 May 2021 (UTC)
- @NothingToSeeHere The housekeeping refers to the live page - the archives are just that; ARCHIVEs. Archive:a place in which public records or historical materials (such as documents) are preserved. dictionary Scream!! (talk) 10:47, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- @NothingToSeeHere Imagine in thirty years from now when there are, say, forty archives; if a new article is created someone would have to search all the archives to find if the article had been in the suggested list even if the title was slightly different. Not gonna happen. Scream!! (talk) 14:47, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Scream!! I understand your reasoning, and it works for me, but this isn't exactly what we have been doing for the past few years with the previous archive system. Before ThisIsMyRealName's overhaul last week these had been the archives: archive2, 3, 4, & 5. If you look in their history you'll see we have been gradually working through them and removing entries as their articles are created or when they've reached 150 votes (previously 100). This is why the oldest list (2009) is the shortest: it's been chipped away at the longest. NothingToSeeHere (talk) 18:58, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

- I made the changes I made because I found the previous structure of the Suggestions page confusing, and I found the previous instructions ambiguous. FWIW as far as wiki etiquette goes, with Talk pages you are, indeed, not supposed to edit other people's comments, but the RationalWiki to-do list is a bit odd in that it's kind of like a Talk page but kind of not.
- Regarding preserving old suggestions: it would indeed be possible to reconstruct the lists and either comment out or otherwise demarcate suggestions that have been turned into articles, but it would be a lot more work than just using the the history to figure out to add year headings, like I did. I mean... feel free to do it yourself, @Scream!!, but it seems kind of pointless. And anyway, if you look at the original archive page... you can't, because the admins deleted it.
- The article-suggestion process has, as I understand it, been more or less the same for the past decade. In order to create the year-based archive pages, I had to dig through the edit history, and the instructions remained largely unchanged, as @NothingToSeeHere described.
- As an aside, the year-based archive pages are shorter as you go back also because there were fewer people on RationalWiki way back when. Incidentally, people's article suggestions have also gotten more in-depth over time, with people actually using significant numbers of <ref> links in recent years. So yay RationalWiki! — ThisIsMyRealName (talk) 20:01, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
