Talk:Missouri

I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. Quite a few St. Louis-ans find the pronunciation "Missoura" to be highly annoying. It's pronounced "Missouri" here.

You lie. ħumanUser talk:Human 06:15, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
He's right. Most of us pronounce it as it is spelled, but then again, most of us live in the civilized areas of Kansas City, St.Louis, and Columbia. Springfield is also nice. Also, for what it's worth, My high school graduation was held at one of those Mormon churches. The one with the neat spiraly roof. Majintahu (talk) 23:26, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Barbecue[edit]

While I'm aware that Kansas City may not have invented Barbecue, it is a major part of life here. With institutions like Gate's and Arthur Bryant's, it is hard to dispute their contribution to the culinary world. majintahu

I added a few names. I mean, how could we leave out Phyllis? Majintahu (talk) 00:06, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Employment laws[edit]

I have been made aware that, in the state of Missouri, an employer is not required to give cause for termination of employment. Is this true? I have heard it mentioned before, and have myself lost a job or two without being given a clear reason why. If anyone out there knows anything about employment laws, can you confirm this? I'm not a Missourian, but check out this. It may help. Aboriginal Noise with 4 M's and a silent Q 02:22, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
