Brennan's Gender[edit]

RW strongly encourages documenting the year of birth of living persons. Footnote 1, which documents that, quotes Brennan referring to themself by a former gender identity. I think the best place to explain why the rest of the article uses a different pronoun is within the ref tag, not a separate footnote as User:Cosmikdebris suggested. Does the style guide comment on this issue?

Brennan's current website has no pronouns but says "I am ... transgender" so I wrote the article using they/them and didn't quote any pre-transition gender thoughts. Their involvement in Effective Altruism is missional, their chromosomes are not. Polydamas (talk) 05:36, 21 September 2025 (UTC)

I fixed the markup so that the note is inside the reference. —cosmikdebris talk stalk 13:59, 21 September 2025 (UTC)
