2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Umm...[edit]

Umm...delete? There's really nothing here, and I have nothing to contribute. Researcher 19:57, 29 September 2008 (EDT)

Meh, it has potential for more, it is as on mission as Expelled at least. 24.141.255.97 20:04, 29 September 2008 (EDT)
Yes, this one is very much on mission. It just needs expanded somewhat. ArmondikoVpathetic 20:08, 29 September 2008 (EDT)

Better question[edit]

Anything we can possibly link to this? Researcher 20:24, 29 September 2008 (EDT)

Probably not easily. It will have to settle for being de-orphaned by its category for now. Down the road, if the film is any good, perhaps people will mention it in articles and talk pages? ħumanUser talk:Human 01:56, 30 September 2008 (EDT)
Categories don't really de-orphan...hmmm...Researcher 00:30, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Popularity comparison with Expelled[edit]

"Religulous netted a gross of $3.5 million in its opening weekend on 502 screens, resulting in a $6,972 per screen average (second among major new releases).[1] In contrast, Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed managed only a meager $2,824 per screen in its opening weekend. [2]"

Why is this relevant?

I won't deny it's reassuring that a propaganda film spreading the views we're rooting for is somewhat more popular than a propaganda film by The Enemy, but I gather this is supposed to be an encyclopedia of rationality. Is there a rational reason to compare these films like this? Fyrius (talk) 11:08, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

RW is not an encyclopǣdia. Green Giant (talk) 11:15, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Noted. (I'm new here, still getting to know the place.) Fyrius (talk) 11:51, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Quotes[edit]

"Takes the piss out of religion"[edit]

What does it mean to take the piss out of something? — Unsigned, by: Trmyers / talk / contribs 2013-01-29T02:55:12

It means to mock something. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 03:05, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Horus-Jesus connection[edit]

Shouldn't there be something in here about how it mentions the inaccurate claim that Jesus came from Ancient Egyptian beliefs? It's ripped straight from Zeitgeist. 71.255.171.58 (talk) 07:54, 15 July 2015 (UTC)

Sure if you want to add it under a new section about inaccuracies go a head.--Owlman (talk) 08:02, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
