2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $10, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

It's okay[edit]

So it's okay if someone breaks hearts that need to be broken or spreads disease on accident. GrandSoviet 18:52, 22 March 2008 (EDT)

  • Reasonable precautions should be taken to avoid spreading disease, though indeed all bets are off if the sumbitch had it coming to him... EVDebs 01:45, 23 March 2008 (EDT)
Lol -- the largely offensive weapon of clap? GrandSoviet 12:23, 23 March 2008 (EDT)
  • I read a great book on the subject of responsibly living a slutty lifestyle: The Ethical Slut: A Guide to Infinite Sexual Possibilities (ISBN 1-890159-01-8), wikipedia has an entry for it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ethical_Slut . It covers a lot of ground, including doing everything you can to avoid accidentally braking hearts (including your own) or spreading disease. A central tenet of the 'ethical slut' lifestyle is that the economics of love are not like those of, say, money... Giving love to Person A doesn't mean that you have less to give to Person B. Time, of course, is another matter. Anyhows, I'd heartily recommend that book for anyone interested in non-monogamous relationships. Adny 20:27, 29 August 2008 (EDT)
