Talk:Society for Psychical Research
"I've just discovered we have a page on RationalWiki! I would love to meet this writer who has such deep insight into the thinking of "most" SPR members. Interestingly it doesn't mention that Soal was exposed by a member of the SPR! And isn't it just so depressing how many of us seem to subscribe to magical thinking?" [1] Scream!! - Is this another one of Forrest's articles? The guy strikes me as a more literate version of Proxima, with psychics instead of religion.--ZooGuard (talk) 12:46, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
- His comments about Samuel Soal are wrong, it was scientists such as George R. Price and C. E. M Hansel who were some of the first to criticise his work. Also interesting the first comment on the facebook page:
- "I can't wait till someone finds that concrete evidence that no-one can deny and all those people that ridiculed the existence of spirits"
- When most of the members according the SPR history compiled by Renee Haynes do not believe in spirits. These people have clearly never studied their own society! Forests (talk) 09:58, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
Apparently they're making a wiki or something[edit]
