Talk:Solway Firth Spaceman
So[edit]
So I was doing some work on the microfilm today and this story caught my eye. Big news, back in the day. Listening to Ella Fitzgerald sing "Baby, if I'm the bottom, you're the top" is very different after reading Dan Savage's column.. 20:11, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
Fortean Times[edit]
The latest issue of the Fortean Times has a short summary of the theory that the figure is actually the photographer's wife; our article is one of two sources it lists (the other being this image). Issue 305, page 28 if anyone wants to hunt it down. Balaam (talk) 10:55, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
- Can't find it online, but wow, it's nice to be noticed (in a good way)! Leuders (talk) 12:34, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
UFO Magazine[edit]
I'm going off memory here (oh dear), as I haven't got the issue to hand, but I'm 'sure' said publication (defunct since 2004) did their own test(s) and concluded there was a definite join around the child's head, indicating superimposition. Anyone else add to this? Scherben (talk) 17:56, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
David Clarke[edit]
RW got a bit strange shout-out by David Clarke, a British folklorist (if the name rings any bells, it's the same guy got to highlight interesting pieces in the "UFO files" released by the UK MoD):
Since 1964 there have been many attempts to explain the photograph as a hoax but none have succeeded and the most recent study, published by Rational Wiki, suggests the ‘spaceman’ is actually Jim’s wife, Anne.
