2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

The 1948 election[edit]

From what I read the problem was - the pollsters did a phone poll, and did not account for 'private phone owners' being only a subsection of the population that was relatively better off #and# more likely to support Dewey (the general population having a preference for Truman). What is the truth in this? 86.191.125.179 (talk) 14:18, 28 December 2016 (UTC)

My god[edit]

the content of this speech would be far left of today's democrats. Protecting the gains of labor? Increasing social security? Fighting against the forces of racism and religious discrimination? Homes for all people? Now I get that FDR had just started the democrats' slow plodding turn towards being the more progressive party, but Dewey is left of pretty much every single elected politician today. ikanreed 🐐Bleat at me 20:17, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
