Skin isn't very good at absorbing water[edit]
I vaguely recall reading in my biology textbooks that human skin (as well as the skin of most terrestrial animals) has specifically evolved to not be particularly water-permeable, since anything that lets water through it one way will also more likely than not let it pass through the other way. In short, skin being relatively water-impermeable is an adaptation to retain water on land. Given the sanctions I'm currently facing, however, I don't want to just insert this without finding a source to verify it. I just wanted to bring it up here so that someone else can potentially add this information if they find a verifying source before I can or while I'm blocked. --Luigifan18 (talk) 16:46, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- Never mind, I found a college textbook online to support my claim. --Luigifan18 (talk) 16:56, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
