Dr Doolittle[edit]
Would this fictional chap be an example of a Whit Saviour? Anna Livia (talk) 20:57, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
- I have no idea because I never read a Doctor Dolittle book. If there is an example of a white character "heroically" saving a non-white person from a social ill with all the focus on the white person, then yes it would be an example of the white saviour trope. - Only Sort of Dumb (talk) 01:49, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
- If you read the summaries on WP DD goes to 'far away places' and improves the lives of the peoples there.
- As in other cases a distinction should be made between 'a display of views then current (which are now disagreed with)' and 'overt racism/dissing the benighted locals.' Anna Livia (talk) 11:32, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
