If someone doesnt help on this I'll remove the strange DPL stuff and do a list manually. Lyra (dust) 20:53, 15 May 2008 (EDT)
- Hey, Carry on - there's no compulsion - just use Template NavigationBox or whatever it's called : ) ContribsTalk 20:56, 15 May 2008 (EDT)
- I liked the cat link in the header - although, I suppose the entire category is listed in the box anyway...? human 15:15, 16 May 2008 (EDT)
This template is dated[edit]
I was wanting to update it looking like this, with the colors and categorizations and all.
{{Navbox |title = Abortion |mainarticle = Abortion |maincategory = Abortion |name = abortionbox |barcolor = #DC143C |bgcolor = #FFEFD5 |textcolor = white |width = 0 |namespace2 = Fun |cat1 = Abortion |cat1name = Abortion }}
But I realized that we really have to add some subcategories to the entire Category:Abortion category. I'm surprised there isn't any sort of categories that group exclusively the pro-life crazies, just the people, not the concepts. --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario! 01:18, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
- Honestly, I'm not sure why we need so many templates anyway. There's already
{{abortion}}
. Why have two templates about the same stuff on a page? 141.134.75.236 (talk) 01:24, 8 November 2018 (UTC)- Nav templates are always fun (in my opinion). Also, we have both
{{Foodbox}}
(navigation) templates and{{Foodnav}}
(sidebar) templates. I don't see the problem of having both? Navigation is easier if you're searching for a specific subject or want to easily dive in the category, foodnav sidebar seems to be useful for just exploring. --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario! 01:33, 8 November 2018 (UTC)- It's not a problem per se, though it can result in template-overkill on stubs. To each their own I guess. Also, is the cellspacing of
{{foodbox}}
borked? 141.134.75.236 (talk) 01:43, 8 November 2018 (UTC)- If you're referring to how the top box of the left column appears uneven, I think that's a feature, not a bug. If you check the
{{Navbox}}
documentation, you can see there's also space. It's the catxind (e.g. cat1ind, cat2ind, and so on) parameter doing that (which I think looks ugly). Nevertheless, yeah, the left column takes up too much space so I'd like to see that more narrow and gives more breathing room for the links themselves. Well, on stubs, I feel the sidebar is more ugly on the page than the bottom nav box. The advantage the boxes do have is that they can be stacked. Sidebar, you have to be choosier, and so you can probably exclude those from stubs. --It's-a me, LeftyGreenMario! 01:51, 8 November 2018 (UTC)
