The Smallest Possible Inerrant Holy Book is an attempt to create an internally consistent religious text that could be described (never mind how accurately) as inerrant or infallible.
Chapter 1: the God[edit]
- A being exists, who will be referred to as "XQZ".
- The canonical description of XQZ and any related topics is referred to as the Smallest Possible Inerrant Holy Book.
- This statement, and others like it, may be found contained in the Smallest Possible Inerrant Holy Book.
- XQZ will issue commands either directly or by proxy.
- You ought to act in accord with every command which XQZ issues to you or to anyone in your group.
- XQZ commands that you treat all claims made by the Smallest Possible Inerrant Holy Book as entirely factual and without error.
- XQZ commands that you obey all injunctions laid out in the Smallest Possible Inerrant Holy Book.
- XQZ commands that you resolve all moral, logical, or other dilemmas you encounter in favor of the Smallest Possible Inerrant Holy Book's interpretation of events and facts.
- XQZ may relay additional commands through means other than the Smallest Possible Inerrant Holy Book.
- Any commands you identify as originating with XQZ are authentic inasmuch as they do not disagree in any way with the contents of the Smallest Possible Inerrant Holy Book.
- XQZ may command amendments or modifications to the Smallest Possible Inerrant Holy Book itself.
Chapter 2: the Priesthood[edit]
- A quality exists, which will be referred to as "Ab".
- Beings and objects may possess Ab in a greater or lesser degree, or entirely lack Ab.
- XQZ has an infinitely high level of Ab.
- Those who spread the word about the Smallest Possible Inerrant Holy Book possess more Ab than those who do not.
- Those who obeyed XQZ's initial command to create the Smallest Possible Inerrant Holy Book possess more Ab than those who did not.
- Beings with higher levels of Ab may raise or lower the level of Ab possessed by any being or object of less starting Ab than themselves, but may not grant more Ab than they themselves possess.
- Those who obey XQZ's commands shall cooperate to create a directory of all such people, including their relative Ab levels. Updates to Ab levels must not be honored unless they are recorded in this directory.
- When a conflict arises in the identification or interpretation of any issue regarding XQZ or the Smallest Possible Inerrant Holy Book, the party with the highest Ab shall prevail.
Chapter 3: Morality[edit]
- XQZ commands that group members should use their collective discretion, reason, and experience to create a system of moral behaviors.
- You ought to obey the collectively created moral system of your group(s), except where it contradicts any command issued by XQZ.
- You ought to believe that no moral system is perfect.
- You ought to work to enhance and improve the moral systems of your groups, consistent with all other commands and injunctions presented by XQZ or the Smallest Possible Inerrant Holy Book.
