Is Special:Newpages automatic enough? I just figure anything involving actual effort that isn't sufficiently entertaining won't happen, c.f. Rationalwikiwiki being a ghost town - David Gerard (talk) 17:21, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Yes and no. It's good that it's automated, but I'm not sure it's right for a WIGO. It is a bit more messy because it's showing a lot of sub-pages (which is unusual and due to the cover overhaul project) and it looks unfriendly. If it could be fed into the usual WIGO structure either automatically or something then yeah, cool. However, the aim is to keep track not just of new stuff, but stuff that's being revisited, discussions that are happening, projects that users are starting, retirements, arrivals, nominations etc. etc. It's more broad than just listing new pages that have been made. Kind of closer to what RWW is, but frequently updated and not just for pissing on people. Scarlet A.pngmoral 17:40, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
How about the forums? - π 22:19, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
That's another possibility. Though remember that it's only 6 because of this layout. It can go back to 5 or 4 and we can just ditch the excess. Scarlet A.pngmoral 11:34, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
Actually this could be very useful provided it is updated regularly (and it's spammed around the wiki to get people to look at it) - i.e. not like RWW:WIGO RW which gets one new entry per month. So we need someone to update it regularly until it catches on. I think RA would be perfect for the job. -- Nx / talk 11:47, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
It would definitely need more than one person to update it. I'm happy to help give it a kick-start too. However, for it to be "spammed around the wiki" it would need to go on the front page, which means a simultaneous launch with this. Scarlet A.pngmoral 11:54, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
Or put it on {{WIGO NAV}} -- Nx / talk 11:57, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
And face the wrath? Well, to be fair, no one seems to have outright complained about it so far. Scarlet A.pngmoral 12:02, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
Short lived words. How about we use the purple for one of the other and possibly ditch the red? - π 12:57, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
