Yep, ...[edit]

....it's me. Didn't enable email here last time and can't remember my password. Which is bizarre, because on casual sites I recycle two passwords (I know, how unsecure! :p) but it just isn't working. I must have been in a strange mood or something when I logged in here.

Thanks for the kind words. I said essentially the same thing on the list that TK started a couple months back, so most senior admins have heard me say it before. *shrug* We'll see. I know better than to think he'll exclaim "the scales have fallen from my eyes! I can see at last!" but what response he does give could be interesting. Az 13:40, 19 May 2008 (EDT)

Your Reply to Sclafly's Reply...[edit]

...is brilliant in so many ways, and puts most of the dissenting voices that manage to emerge on CP--as well as much of our own bitching about CP and Schlafly--to shame with its thoughtfulness, measured respect and focus on well-defined issues and positions. This response is one that Schlafly cannot simply ignore or sweep under the rug, and it should force him and many of his allies--as well as the homeschoolers the project is meant to benefit--to question many of the foundational ideas, as well as the general approach, taken by the CP project. While most of us might have taken the chance to vomit all over Andy's talk page, you did way better. You deserve a better forum than CP: I never followed much of your work on CP, but I get the feeling our politics are miles apart. But you have my respect, Az, and I hope to see you around here on a regular basis...PFoster 15:32, 19 May 2008 (EDT)

Well hell. What can a guy say to that other than "thanks?" So, thanks. :D I don't think I shame anybody else's work, though - I totally get that some folks are just plain pissed. And, I've almost never been as ostracized as some of the folks here, so I get the frustration, too. I do think that too many arguments get derailed with the "well what about X?" strategem. I'd rather win or lose a point and then move on.
As for our politics, I suspect we're less "miles apart" than "going the same place on different roads." I'll show you mine if you show me yours...?
I guess I found something to say other than "thanks." hehehehe Az 15:39, 19 May 2008 (EDT)
I agree with Foster. I also wonder—surely by now there are enough conservatives disillusioned with Schlaflypedia to establish their own conservative resource? Show 'em how its done! --Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 15:42, 19 May 2008 (EDT)
There probably are, but I'm not the one to do it. As my edit history at CP can abundantly attest, I have no interest in writing a bunch of book report-style articles. As long as my ruminations, thought experiments, and occasional categorization-jags are valued, great. Fire brand-waving is not my forte. And, I thank you for your kind words. :) Az 16:26, 19 May 2008 (EDT)

Excellent riposte, that man, well done, tally ho! whatwhat! Seriously, your PS is probably the sanest thing on CP at the moment - and it's very well written, I must say. And welcome to RW, Az :D Spica the Hiver If you tolerate this, then your children will be next... 15:48, 19 May 2008 (EDT)
Thanks to you, as well, although I've been here before. I lost my "keys" to my old account. =p Az 16:26, 19 May 2008 (EDT)
