Celtic Version Irish words for fairies[edit]

Hello, I can talk a little more about Irish for fairies and their English conversions if you would like? (this being your draft) 37.228.254.51 (talk) 23:43, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

I would absolutely love it, thanks for the assistance! RoninMacbeth (talk) 23:49, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
So, can you clarify the whole "sidhe" thing for me? Is that the beings or the mounds? RoninMacbeth (talk) 23:49, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
So according to teanglann (will find more sources) a sidhe (in modern irish written as sí) is a fairy mound, these mounds are often overgrown stone age burial sites or even the remnants of iron age forts (this is a bit of a facepalm for me, mistaking our own history for myths). Aos is the irish for a people, often used to describe people who act similar .e.g. Aos Dána "poets", literally "people of poem", or Aos Eagna "intelligentsia", literally people of wisdom. For blood or national ties muintir tends to be used instead.147.252.137.229 (talk) 11:42, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
Please edit my edits to find a better tone e.g. I like to include pronunciation but maybe it breaks the flow and wouldn't really be missed Féinléiriú (talk) 17:43, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
I think the pronunciation works in the page. Most native-English speakers (especially in the States, where I live) have no clue how to pronounce Irish, myself included. RoninMacbeth (talk) 18:11, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
