Blather and Twitter references[edit]

You should be aware that while it's fine to cite Blather, as far as I can tell Blather is not archivable at either archive.org or archive.is. Also for pages about living people, it is especially important that there be a reasonably permanent link confirming any statements made by or about the person. Twitter is not very permanent since it's generally not automatically archived (for public access) and because tweets are easily deleted by the posters. To compensate for this, you can use either archiving site to make a permanent copy of individual tweets that you cite. Bongolian (talk) 18:10, 15 September 2019 (UTC)

I was wrong about Blather. The pages do archive. Bongolian (talk) 20:50, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
@Bongolian one important thing to note about Blather is that it is a form of archiving. If a tweet is loaded on there before it was been deleted on Twitter, it will be saved. For example, Candace Owens' now deleted tweet about Cesar Sayoc's pipe bombs that were sent through the mail can be found here. I don't even think a fallacy has to be assigned to the tweet in order for the tweet to be saved.
OK, thanks. Bongolian (talk) 01:35, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
