Zoogenesis was an evolutionary theory of Austin Hobart Clark (1880-1954) an American zoologist. The theory postulated that each of the "major types of life forms on earth evolved separately and independently from all the others".[1]

Clark discussed the theory in his book The New Evolution: Zoogenesis (1930). Creationists have quote mined the book and mispresented Clark in many cases.[2] Clark did not deny common descent or evolution. According to Ronald Numbers even though Clark rejected species belonging to branches of a single Phylogenetic tree he still accepted evolution and rejected creationism.[3]
