I've probably missed most of this whole MC discussion, but can't we just let him stay and be cruel and abusive towards him, take away all of his powers 0 if he has any - and let the problem sort itself out? --Hojini hao 04:17, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- I didn't mention MC on purpose. Right now the way things have been going here is breaking my heart. RW seems to be falling apart at the seams. ħuman 04:19, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- Now I know I may not be impartial in this statement, but I think if we were all a bit more like me and just didn't give a shit about anything at all we'd all be better off. That my 2 cents. Back to drinking. DickTurpis (talk) 04:26, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- You don't think RW might be "falling apart at the seams" because some folks keep enabling trolls who'd love to take us apart at the seams? And some of us are getting a wee bit frustrated by this apparent lack of common sense? --Kels (talk) 05:04, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- Kels, I disagree with your authoritarian perspective. I hate to disagree with you, you know I love you, but your "ban the people I don't like" perspective rubs me the wrong way. ħuman 06:18, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- And I love you too, despite blatantly mischaracterizing my argument and insulting me to my face. Although after that I'm wondering why. By the way, have you gone over to call PZ Myers a fascist yet for having his dungeon? --Kels (talk) 15:22, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
- No, I just haven't come over to your talk page and apologized for using such a silly extreme word. ħuman 22:53, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

- No one can tear our seams; only we ourselves can do that. Or something. Fuck it, I'm drunk. DickTurpis (talk) 05:10, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Successful troll is successful[edit]
That is what has happened. - π 07:06, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- I would agree with that sentiment. ħuman 07:14, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- As would I. Personally the main source of frustration is in the dickery from certain people who think it's fun to pull a troll out of his cage in order to stick a thumb up his arse, sending him hurtling around around the place. I don't like the idea of banning, but we should at least be able to agree that disruptive trolls belong in the vandal bin. Earlier calls to ignore him are silly, since it's kind of like standing in front of a burning fireworks factory yelling "Move along, nothing here to see". That level of control doesn't work here. Another irony is in some people coming out against the idea of using tools to control disruptive or abusive users, yet using general unpleasantness to dissuade people from editing here. The latter is just blocking by other means. I can only speak for myself when I say that life has enough stupid confrontations and drama without having to deal with that here. --Ask me about your mother 14:00, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Move[edit]
Following Trent's wall of text, we're probably going to move this onto something productive. So I propose moving this page to a name that's slightly less grim. The glass is still half full, after all. pathetic 20:02, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- How about something like "the future of RationalWiki"? ħuman 20:16, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- What I'm most concerned with is "what consensus looks like". That's the golden ticket. — Sincerely, Neveruse513 / Talk / Block 20:28, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- I tink "future of RW" is a bit broad. Perhaps "dealing with community growth"? pathetic 14:15, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I agree it's too broad. At least your suggestion makes sense in light of Trent's comments, and could remain useful even years from now. If I move it I'll put a note at the top mentioning the original name and why it was changed. Or if someone else does it, please do that. ħuman 22:52, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
