Draft:Greg Gutfeld
Greg Gutfeld (1964–) is a Fox News host, Holocaust optimist[1], failed comedian, and one of the more snobby and obnoxious hosts on the network. Though Gutfeld is a libertarian,[2] he allies himself with conservatives and rightists (the Dave Rubin tactic, though this was before Dave came out as a conservative).
Gutfeld is most known for his various attempts at putting together comedy and Fox News, with his most popular attempt being the nightly talk show Gutfeld. His show actually does quite well in the ratings, earning him the title of "King of Late Night" among many in the media.[3] However, that is largely because he is essentially the only openly conservative host of a late night talk show, meaning those who want to combine this genre of television with right-wing politics have no choice but to go to him.[4]
Although far from the biggest grifter at Fox News, he does have his moments. In 2013, for example, Penn Jillette talked about how Gutfeld would talk about how religious he is on air despite being an atheist to keep his job on the network.[5]
Generally shitty views[edit]
Gutfeld, being a Fox News host, is unsurprisingly a terrible person. Being the most smug Fox host, he projects confidence in his reporting even when ejecting partisan garbage.
Holocaust revisionism[edit]
Gutfeld got into a large amount of controversy in 2023 for arguing that the various concentration camps Jews were forced into during the Holocaust caused them to develop skills, saying "you had to survive in a concentration camp by having skills. You had to be useful. Utility. Utility kept you alive.” The statement in question got him criticized by the Auschwitz Memorial on Twitter, who called the comments historically inaccurate and nonsensical.[6]
