Culture war stupidity[edit]
Can we all take a moment to appreciate how much of a non-issue these culture war flareups are? Conservatives would rather spend all their time bitching about Budweiser featuring one transwoman instead of focusing something that is actually substantial, like economic inequality (which even most conservatives acknowledge is a major issue). It's performative. If they spent all that energy actually campaigning on issues that affect them materially, instead of trying to deny trans people the right to self-expression, then imagine how much could be done? - I think you're overestimating the intelligence and compassion of conservatives… --Luigifan18 (talk) 00:42, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
- Or maybe conservatives have found themselves isolated in an echo chamber that relentlessly pushes culture war bullshit to distract from material issues. Anyone can fall into an echo chamber. Intelligence has nothing to do with it. Pew actually released a study that showed that low-income Republicans also view economic inequality as a major issue: ([1]) Carthage (talk) 01:01, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
- Fair enough, I've found myself having to ease off the Reddit browsing from time to time in order to avoid sulking about and wishing for the entire Republican Party to very literally die in a fire. --Luigifan18 (talk) 03:46, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
- Still, RW may be uniquely posed to pick apart flare-ups like these. A certain event almost a decade ago comes to mind... Chillpilled (talk) 04:23, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
